Failure

Forum

I am so pissed Failure broke up, I mean come on, Fantastic Planet is probably the best disc that I have ever purchased. I still listen to it everyday, can't say that about too many discs I have.... PLEASE GET BAKC TOGETHER

I'm actually trying to form a band that blatantly rips Failure off just because I want to hear more of it. If they want to prevent this they should reform immediately. No one else sounds as weird, melodic, and intelligently heavy.

If you don't appreciate failure, you are missing out!

they should replace the national anthem w/ failure lyrics

Very good band sorry to see them go. Hopefully we will see them again soon. Good music is hard to find these days

failure is and was the best .........(except for radiohead)..........does anybody live in OK who wants to form a cover band?

which album did "enjoy the silence" appear on... because i do know that they covered depeche mode's song and it was the best rock cover ever.

no doubt failure is by far an extrodinary band who always produced this out of space magic sound...talent in every word

...failure is (was) such an amazing band... Ken Andrews is in a new band called "Year Of The Rabbit"... a little bit more manistream and more radio friendly than Failure, but still a good time...

everybody is right... What a great and sadly overlooked band.. I was told that there is a Deftones connection to Failure, but I'll be damned if I can find it...

Anyone?...

>>By Diabolik   (Wednesday, 19 Nov 2003 18:52)

i don't qutie remember them having a connection to Deftones, but i agree that they are a extremely underated band. They were just a little to early for their time. There cover of Depeche Mode.....tasty.

I discovered "Fantastic Planet" in 1998 and it quickly became my all time favorite album - and still is. "Magnified" is their previous album and is almost as good. "Year of the Rabbit" is Ken Andrews latest endeavor and for the life of me I don't understand why he drifted away (and far away he did drift with ON) from the magic that he & Greg Andrews created with Failure. From what I understand, Greg was the one who came up with alot of the edgier lyrics (Dirty Blue Balloons, Seargent Politeness, Daylight) while Ken wrote the love songs (Saturday Savior, The Nurse Who Loved Me, Another Space Song, Blank). I saw Year of the Rabbit open for Pete Yorn and bought the album but I just can't get into it. IT'S NOT FAILURE DAMMIT! AND I WANT MORE FAILURE! Unfortunately Greg has drifted off into some surreal, drug-induced zombie land with Autolux. Ken & Greg hate each other now, which makes since - they were yen and yang, and without each other to play off of, they're nothing... too bad.

Check out this extensive Failure website - it's got all you'd ever want to know:

I bought Ken Andrews new project or band, Year of the Rabbit. It's some pretty good melodic shit, its no Failure, but it just goes to show how good artist/composers/musicians/producers such as Ken Andrews are totally under-rated.

I just discovered Failure today. Aren't you proud of me? Well you should be. I found it because for my birfday I got APC's Thirteenth Step, and when I learned The Nurse Who Loved Me was a cover, I had to find out if the original really was better. I...still haven't decided. But I so want Fantastic Planet now. Tis my goal. And I know at least two people who would also love the band. (And I've only been listening to it for about twenty minutes)

I really like Failure and wish they would have continued making music, just incase someone doesn't know this you can find a cd of covers done by Failure's Ken Andrews and Greg Edwards along with Tool's Paul D'Amour as the Replicants. Pretty cool.

It's 2005...I never heard of Failure and I hear them one day on XM Fred. Blown Away!.
I just bought the DVD set "Golden" WOW. I also got Fantastic Planet ,and Saturday Savior and Stuck on you is stuck in my brain. They are the BEST!. And I'm listening to them for the first time 8 years AFTER they broke up. What a waste. Don't they realize they will never do anything as great again as they did together. I don't care about the differences between Ken and Greg...bury the hatchet and reunite Failure. It's pure Magic.
