I see it has been a long time since you wrote.

Weber, to me is a genius of composition. He is a great player, but where he shines is in his mix of genre and his ability to create such rich colors.

Most people I konw shy away from his work. I was lucky enough to discover him in the 70's when the terminology for that brand of music was "third stream jazz." Weber and all of his contemporaries wrote/write, I would characterize it, as an expressionist/impressionist mode....really with the rock and electronic struff he has in his works one of the real post-modern composers worth listening to.
