Die Prinzen

Olli Kahn! It was delight in the German national team which led me here. The best music I'd heard in ages, and I only came across it because of teh Great Good Kahn with the terrible sideburns.
And there lyrics are amazing. I am only just learning German ,so I don't actually understand all of it yet, but what I do really makes me feel like they are something spectacular.

oh guys, you think DIE PRINZEN are good german music, don't you? there are so much better punk music in germany, my homeland. look at DIE TOTEN HOSEN, DIE ÄRZTE, TOCOTRONIC, FEHLFARBEN, TERRORGRUPPE. that's good german music, not DIE PRINZEN. they are just one of these commerce bands. well, their sound is good, but the lyrics? for Example: do you think ALLES NUR GEKLAUT is a good lyric?
thanx for your regard

Die Prinzen is one of my favorite bands. My favorite song is Gabi Und Klaus it rocks and I know what they are saying. Its kind of a sad song. its the only song of theirs I have heard but I like it better than most American songs. Once you hear it for the first time it just grows on you. signed, Computer girl

I am also a Die Prinzen fan who is English. My best friend came from Germany, and he introduced me to them. I have been hooked ever since. He also introduced me to Die Toten Hosen, Die Ärzte, Die Fantastischen Vier, Wolfsheim, Pur, and many others. These are all very good German bands! I love German music! In any case, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get any Die Prinzen lyrics (or other German bands) translated into English. I don't know much German, and would like to be able to understand the lyrics. If you know of one, my e-mail is KeikoKat18@hotmail.com. Thanks!

Hallo! Ich bin neu heir aber ich finde Weiss Kruez, Rammstein, und Die Prinzen uberhaupt gut. Es tut mir leid. Miene Duestch ist nicht gut. Dieses Jahr ist miene erste Jahr von Duestch klasse. Miene Kopf... Schmerz!!! Must take a break from german for a minute. It's late and my head might explode if my mom doesn't bash it in first for being up late. So I'll talk later. Weidersehen!

Today in German class we were watching the video for Kapitel 10, and the music video for Millionär came on, and at first i couldnt get past how cheesy and dorky the music video was, we were all like "is this a joke?", but after everyone in the class said they wanted to watch it again i realized how cool the music was, so i came home and downloaded their music, they are awesome!

I wish I could find somewhere to get their music but I can't find it anywhere. I loved that music video by the way. I thought it was so funny.

I just LOVE Prinzen!!! I was so happy to come across a group that shared my obsession! My first Prinzen song was "Deutschland". I may be American, but that song is awesome! We listened to it in German class and wrote down words for extra points. My new favorite phrase in that class is, "Frau, koennen wir Prinzen hoeren, bitte?" I think they're awesome in every way. First and foremost, they can sing very, very well. Second they've lasted the test of time. Most of our "boy bands" in America are only cool for a year or two. Prinzen has been singing for thirteen years now. What I do understand is often very funny or sweet. (I am not quite fluent in German.) I also love that they learned music, unlike most American teenage "boy bands" who jump right into it. I always figured that I may not understand every single word-I may not ever, but I can understand the feel of the song and in a sense, "understand" the music. I've only seen one video and it's for "Chronisch Pleite" and only because it's on the "Monarchie in Germany" CD. If anyone finds any videos online, please share with the group. The only thing I don't like about them is the fact I may never go to a concert. :( I'm blabbing now, sorry. I'll leave you with "Ich liebe die Prinzen!"

No, there doesn't seem to be any videos online. Oh, and by the way, there are more English Die Prinzen fans out here. First time I found them was in 1995 in Leipzig (the home town of most of them!) and have all their albums. Merchandise is available on their website (www.dieprinzen.de) but unglücklicherweise ist alles auf Deutsch, obwohl es ganz einfach zu verstehen ist... Die Prinzen rock, their lyrics make me laugh (since you were speaking of "Monarchie in Germany", "Chronisch Pleite" and "Tiere sind zum Essen da" are funny, but "Politiker" on "Alles mit 'm Mund" is also a hoot). Also, lyrics are freely available online (try running a search from Yahoo Deutschland). If anyone wants a translation of the lyrics (I can translate from the German into English, French or Japanese), drop me an e-mail and I'll promise to get it done within 3 days.

I have an easier way for anyone who wants to translate. Just try typing the title into any search engine (I usually use yahoo) and click on the option that says "translate this page". The grammar is a little off, but you get the point. Also, has anyone ever tried writing them? I sent out a letter in April, but they haven't written back yet. I understand that it will take longer (much, much longer) to get a letter from the US to Germany and vice versa and I also think they just finished a concert tour (lucky people). I'll let you know if I get anything back. If you want to try yourself, the address is both on their CDs and website. There are also many English Prinzen websites. One I found said that they one some award for music in 1999 and another (prinzenwelt.com or .de, I think) had a smaller site in English. I really should stop blabbing like this! Until next time!

Letters take forever to get back from germany but are pretty quick getting there. i have a pen pal and shed get my letter like 3 days after i sent it and it took like a 8 days for me to get it after she sent it. Die Prinzen rules i listen to them in german 2 and can understand a little.

i first heard Die Prinzen about 2 months ago i was like wow theese guys are a little weird. But for some reason i couldnt stop thinking about Millionar and I got Sebastians face stuck in my head. A week later i downloaded every Prinzen song i could find since then I've been hooked on them. My favorite song might be either Gabi und Klaus or Millionar. I can understand most of what they are saying but some things I just ask Frau!!!!!!!!
