DEFTONES ARENT NU METAL BAND.Their music depends on their moods. Some bands like Korn,Hed P.E. or Limp Bizkit are selling themselves and they first have to learn how to play guitars and then talk shit.I fell into Deftones music and just cant live 1 fucking day without them.Sometimes they make me nervous, sometimes happy,angry,melancholyc,.../PART OF ME GETS SICK/PART OF ME GETS SORE/...................

Deftones .....for me deftones is depression i feel it (the voice of chino) deep in my soul so erotic so sad so fucking unbelievably great Deftones are ubique no doubt but i dont agree whit all of u who say that their music gives them an energy deftones is like meditation u feel angry but u still feel calm i cannot put it into words i just adore the way they make me feel
p.s chino may be fat but still is the sexiest singer ever:)

lets talk about next level shit...lets talk about not compromising musical integrity....
oh the record company wants the album out? fuck them!!@!@&
ALBUM WAS WELL WORTH WAITING FOR CRACKERS, DONT YOU AGREE??

seen'm 12times (very proud of that) and I will see them another dozen times regardless of how fat chino gets....(is he on the "all carb diet" or something?)

still the best live show out there.....
The reason why they played the "summer sell-out tour" is they had a vote and it was 3-2 in favor of playing. (I wonder what Franks vote was....)

Anyway, I listen to the boys just about everyday....still manage to to circulate the three other albums frequently.

Big ups to Tool, Metallica, Snoop, RZA-GZA-METH-OLD DIRT-UGOD-MASTA KILLA-GHOSTFACE-CHEF-CAP AND THE REBEL.... SOAD-PUMPKINS- AND OF COURSE DRE-EAZY-YELLA-REN AND CUBE....

peace~

I'm not personally a big Deftones fan. I'm definately not gonna talk shit about them though because they're one of the very few mainstream heavy bands around today who are actually original. Korn(fuck all those copycat bands), Tool, System of a Down, and A Perfect Circle all fit into that category.

>>By MightyAfroWhitey   (Friday, 22 Aug 2003 19:04)

Yeah, Chino has gained a lil' waight along the years... probably the succes rosed in his stomach.... but anyways, i love this band! they are representin' somethin' really cool and kinda erotic, so it's both chill-out and crazy head-bangin'-music. Thanks goes to my sis, who brought Deftones in to my world 5 years ago!

Many rock bands try to sound like deftones these days, but only deftones reaches the original sound that they created. They have always been my favourite new-metal group, bcoz' of their gentle and sweet touch that sometimes gives chills! I love 'em!

>>By Plaztik   (Tuesday, 2 Sep 2003 15:38)

Deftones is the coolest! Love theire sound, it's original. It's true, many bands try to rip Deftones-off, but they all have failed in it miserably. Deftones is the one and only! Theire best songs are "Back to school" and "Be quiet and drive (far away)".

>>By Chromez   (Sunday, 5 Oct 2003 16:22)

Their lyrics are less than inspired, but the music is excellent.
Digital Bath on White Pony is really something.

>>By Luna   (Sunday, 5 Oct 2003 19:51)

deftones are brutal i love them

>>By gohan   (Sunday, 5 Oct 2003 21:20)

To Thomas Ca.
Creepy Drummer?Did you ever played Drums yourself?I don“t think so.
Try to play Digital bath and if you managed that let me know...

Hexagram kicks ass!

>>By Shaggz   (Thursday, 13 Nov 2003 18:44)

DEFTONES IS A GREAT BAND
DIGITAL BATH IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS
YOU CAN FEEL PAIN AND ANGER WITH THEM, BECAUSE THEY TRANSMIT SENSATIONS

>>By Vampiro_Inmundo   (Friday, 28 Nov 2003 02:53)

they make BEAUTIFUL music. period.

>>By ragdoll   (Monday, 16 Feb 2004 18:12)

Nobody wants to see these fat asses anywhere, let alone on the cover of magazines and on TV

You must have a great body, but I guess your talent for music isn't that good. I don't care that they are fat (I am not ginger either), I mind that you mind their figure Dresden (what a fascist name btw, followed history?). They have made some good albums, getting better every time, and if they gain some weight over the years I don't mind.

>>By Campking   (Tuesday, 24 Feb 2004 11:54)

JEWBLAZER i like the name....................pressman Germany if you like deftones check out ACID BATH

>>By pressman   (Thursday, 1 Apr 2004 13:38)

Deftones are amazing. Around The Fur is their best but the other 3 albums are great too. Chino has the best voice in rock right now along with Maynard James Keenan and Daryl Palumbo. I've seen them live three times and they were better each time.

Lifter, Bored, MX, Dai The Flu, My Own Summer, Digital Bath, Hexagram and Bloody Cape are my favorite songs.

>>By Stinkfist   (Tuesday, 4 May 2004 17:21)

deftones are awesome
a very good band with an air about them that screams integrity and the ability to wade through rocks ever-changing trends to create beautifully written and aesthtically pleasing music. Chino has one of the most unique voices in the world, completely vulnerable yet demanding in the same right. The only thing I wish for from this band is a more definitive and articulate explanation of their universe, what makes them tick. Their songs are deep and personal which adds an air or mystery to them, much like Tool or The Smashing Pumpkins, but their universe is very moot at times. Regardless, their music is brilliant and I definitely look forward to future albums from them. My favorite songs at Knife Party, Needles and Pins and Passenger. Still have not seen them live, which I desire to shoot myself for, but the day will come. Learn, live and love life.

i'm not one to even use the damn word nu-metal, but i never really considered them to be what people view this genre to be, ie bands like korn who talk about nothing but how much it hurts to live. although i do like old korn, they invented the whole numetal genre. anyway deftones remind me more of a more loving and meaningful version of the heavier bands today. to me, they go right in the same basket as new killswitch engage/ avenged sevenfold music.

>>By somethingbetter   (Tuesday, 29 Jun 2004 10:34)

Camillo Moreno is the greates singer alive

>>By CHARLOS   (Saturday, 7 Aug 2004 19:01)

first off, the deftones are not nu metal, they're not even metal for christ's sake! if you wanna talk metal, lets talk about slayer, dying fetus, anthrax, nile, testament, obituary, exodus, opeth, lamb of god, iced earth, cannibal corpse, deicide, hash money presents: Kingpin ((haha patrick!)), etc... don't get me wrong, i love the deftones, they're one of my favorite bands. but never have i, since being a fan of the deftones, ever classified them as nu metal! thats absurd! but hey, what the fuk do i know?....

>>By lungs   (Friday, 3 Dec 2004 23:51)

Their latest album was pretty much metal, but I agree, I don't think their real nu metal. It's pretty impossible to label them actually. Around The Fur was a mix of post-hardcore and something else I can put my finger on, White Pony was almost progressive in places, and Adrenaline was pretty darn close to screamo. They've got their hardcore thrashers like Teething, Rickets & Elite, soft spooky ballads like Fist, Mascara & Teenager, and they've got the totally unique weird tracks like Fireal, Dai The Flu & RX Queen.

The word we're looking for here is VERSATILITY. Anywho, they are one kick-ass band. Chino & Abe are gods.

>>By Stinkfist   (Saturday, 4 Dec 2004 14:18)

one of the greatest bands to grace the planet. what more can i say...

>>By MOTU_KOAB   (Sunday, 5 Dec 2004 03:39)

yes, versatile is a good word to describe them....you took the fuckin words right outta my mouth : ) i would still never classify them as metal, though......

>>By lungs   (Monday, 27 Dec 2004 03:53)

Deftones is a great example, why people shouldn't use the term "nu-metal" in the first place. Let's see; They say Deftones are nu-metal. So is Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park.... How does Bizkit and Park fit in the same sub-metal genre as Deftones? They're not in the same league, they are not even from the same planet! Same goes to Korn and Slipknot. And maybe American Head Charge. Thise 4 bands are nothing like Staind, Bizkit, Linkin Park, Adema, Taproot, and numerous other bands that media tend to call nu-metal.

All in all, Deftones is a great band. I don't know about the live shows... Sometimes it seems it's hard for Chino to sing and play guitar at the same time. But they are still one of the greatest these days!

>>By T.Montana   (Thursday, 3 Feb 2005 16:59)

so are you saying all those bands you just mentioned are better or worse than the deftones. Cause if you ask me all those other bands suck, KORN i used to could tollerate but now I can't even stand to listen to their old shit. And the Deftones live I think are fucking great, except be quiet and drive, one of my fav songs by them, but *sigh* they just can't pull it off.

Deftones happen to be one of the few bands that I think are consistent with every album, I can't choose a fav deftones album, but I could TOOL, Pink FLoyd, and so on, and I like those bands a lot more than the deftones!

Yeah fuck the term nu-metal, I hate it, well I don't hate it cause I think it's a good way to throw a bucket full of shitty bands into a well deserved shitty catergory, but deftones aren't nu-metal, not at all, well enough incessant rambling, later

>>By Machine_of_Undertow   (Thursday, 3 Feb 2005 20:28)

*clap**clap* very well said, if i do say so myself....
i must agree, i could never pick a favorite deftones album, its just not possible. but if you asked my what my favorite tool album is, or even rage or slayer or pantera, i could give an answer on the drop of a dime. consistency is definitely the key : ) and i guess "nu metal" is just a nice way of saying "shitty metal bands"...... thats my best guess anyway...

>>By lungs   (Friday, 4 Feb 2005 09:13)

Machine_of_Undertow

I meant those other bands are shit. I'm sure they are great in what they do, but it isn't for me. I still like Korn. Ofcourse they've changed alot from 1994, but i guess that's how it goes on most of the bands. Like Deftones, they don't sound the same now, than they did in the mid 90's. Change is good, if you do it right. In the case of Deftones and Korn, it's all good.

And "nu-metal" is a term made by media, when they don't know what category they should put a new rock band.

>>By T.Montana   (Friday, 4 Feb 2005 18:35)

well, ya know, i've heard SOAD classified as nu metal, so there must be something good from the genre....
