I cant believe this is the first msg to be left on this site, what a privelege!! Started to listen to Rice only recently, he writes some really original thoughts for lyrics

Hey everyone!

You should definately check out the KCRW show at the Universal Amphitheatre on Nov.22!! If you're a "sounds eclectic fan" you should have a blast at the show. This is one of those shows you do not want to miss out on. How often are you able to see BECK, Liz Phair,Damien Rice and The Jurassic 5 together at one show? I really suggest getting your tickets before it sells out! You can purchase your tickets through Ticket master or at the Universal Amphitheatre!! Do not get left out in the dusty trails of the lonely hearts!!I'll be there wearing my pink and purple polk a dotted slippers!

So! There are actually members on this list who listen to good music. Discovered this band/act a few months ago, and must say that I have been listening to it at high rotation. Especially the song "I remember" gets a lot of airplay in my house.. The first time I heard the record I even thought this song were two. I like the coversation of the woman and the man inside the song, not only the lyrics, but the whole song athmosphere changes when we switch from person... and the lyrics tough very simple strike me as great, if not genius... Well that's too much said, he is not leonard cohen but still quiet good lyrics..
But then again, with a line like "God may forgive me but I will whip myself scorn" can steal my heart in a glimps....

Thank god to my girlfriend who gave me this record as a suprise.... I love her!!!!

Juniper were a sort of cult Dublin band - well cult's probably the wrong word but they were a really popular live band who eventually got it together to release a record. Then Damien left and they're now called bellx1; quite good still actually.

ummmm hang on...I think that their ep was called Manna and one of their singles was weatherman. Check out the Bellx1 website, think it's bellx1.net and it talks 'bout their history with damo an' all.

The Bell X one I know is a jazz experimental group, is this the same band?

Happens quiet often that there are bands with the same name... actually there were two nirvana's, 2 feeder, 2 loose (now one is called 35007) etc. etc.

The way the whole story of I remember is set up is great. Maybe one of the best duets I ever heard. You really feel the tension between both story......

i saw him at the prince of wales last night (oz). best performance possibly ever. he didnt even need i think her name is lisa who does joint/backing vocals, he did them himself, he was amazing. he pulled off his version of 'hallelujah', when he came back for encore. i met him too, really gorgeous.
