In my opinion, COF was one of the best black metal band ...I say "was" because now, their music sucks, it is not the same music as before ...Listen to "Dusk ..." or "Cruelty and the Beast" and you'll understand what I want to say !!!!!

sure sure sure . cruelty and dusk and vempire are freat cds but still , they havent lost their touch. they are still the most mind exploding and wonderful band that i love. i like all there new stuff. the songs that they had are for themes. they have themes and the songs express each individual theme so if you had the same style of music for each theme then it wouldnt be enjoyable now would it .

To all of you who say that Cradle of Filth is true Black Metal, or that they are one of the greatest, you each deserve an agonizing, horrific death.
Cradle of Filth is a disgrace to the Black Metal name. Dani Filth is nothing more than a moron whom enjoys pretending to be unholy and evil while playing goth dress up.
Black Metal is not a life-style for the weak, it has no room for posers, and sissy assed high pictched vocals are definitly not part of Black Metal.
Even the singer from Arch Enemy has a stronger, more manly voice than Dani Filth, and this singer is a woman, for those of you whom know nothing of Black Metal.
I would drop a few band names of true Black Metalist, but I would just encourage you Cradle of Filth fans to start pretending to be real Black Metal fans, can't have that.

I was an incredibly devoted cradle fan at one time. Everything they created before Bitter shits was pure masterpiece. Their first four albums were so amazing, It depresses me to listen to them because i know theyll never make such good music ever again. It seems like they've really lost sight of what they were all about. Theyre garbage now. Damnation and a day is shit.

I've seen COF in concert a few days ago in Paris, Dani has definitely an incredible voice,
it's just unbelievable he could go on singing (or screaming :-) during all the show and still can talk with us after!!!
He has an exceptionnal and powerful talent, and he has really and definitely hypnotized us...

i think cradle of filth is the best band that there is ! damnation and a day was in the
top 200 of the bill board charts, how many bands can say that? i get to see them

Cradle of Filth are NOT black metal.
I repeat CRADLE OF FILTH ARE NOT BLACK METAL!. There old stuff can be
considered as black metal but there new stuff is a pile of wank that can't be any further
away from the genre as possible. if you want black metal listen to Bathory, Marduk, Burzum,
Gorgoroth, DarkThrone, Mayhem, Immortal, Carpathian Forest, Limbonic Art, Judas Iscariot.
The list goes on. Shut up about how good cradle of filth are and how black metal they are cos
they aint. if only you knew the history that went on in Norway between Mayhem and Burzum then
you'd all shut ur traps. Varg from Burzum is still in prison for what went on. Most of you are probably
a bunch of 12 yr olds who think they are the greatest band on the earth. I will say that some of their
old stuff was good shit although it wasn't exactly extreme black metal. The song 'Hallowed be thy name'
for example was amazing. Cradle Of Filth are not all this extreme unholy blah blah. This is just an image
they like to have. Just look at what Mayhem used to do on stage. The singer pretty much wore corpses
on himself and another thing is a true black metal band doesn't play for the publicity. Black Metal is
possibly the least known genre out there and cradle of filth are one of the most well known metal bands.
They are the Good Charlotte and Bowling for Soup are compared to punk.

dont do what they do ? they could do spells,go looking for paranormal events, so until i have
proof that they arent what they say they are, i will shut up, i will of course still listen
to them till i die, but i will know that they dont do spells and rituals and that i can live with and
and i dont care about. i mean , if the band makes good music, why should anyone care how
"evil" or "black metal " they are. people who say that just misunderstand the concept of black metal. they seem like they are more interested in names and labels

but that is the thing. most kids who do listen to cradle also listen to the black stuff
such as dimmu borgir and mayhem and immortal and all the other bands of that
more intense nature. personally i would label cradle more as gothic black metal.
but that is just me. but then again, on some of the other black metal bands cd's,
they do thank cradle of filth. like dimmu borgirs "spiritual black dimensions" they thanked
cradle of filth and later on, nicholas ( the old drummer of cradle of filth) did join dimmu borgir
so if they werent really part of the black metal musical catagory, then i pretty much think that
nicholas wouldnt be playing for dimmu borgir right now

i purchased the new cradle of filth cd " DAMNATION AND A DAY" O HOLY HELL!!!! it is so good! i love it so much i have listened to it for 3 days straight! i cant listen to anything else! it is so good. sure it is diffrent from cruelty , vempire and dusk but it is still such and excellent cd . i love it
