Forum

I cant believe no one has written in this forum yet. Chris Thomas king is a truely wonderful blues guitarist. I have heard only a few of his songs the one that stuck with me the most was HArd Time Killing Blues it definetely is a really well written song. I was only able to find guitar tablature for this song on one sight and so far it seems good here is the page.

if ya wanna find some more great blues men...your gonna have to dig, dig...get to the source...once you find that...the rest will follow, and you'll find some truly talented bluesmen...start with robert johnson, jimi hendrix (band of gypsys), james cotton, muddy waters and any other band that has relations with " ol' sratch" i.e. led zeppelin, black sabbath, and the Doors and you will hear true blues come from any of those guys...

I bought the legend of Tommy Johnson a couple months ago and I think it's a wonderful album. He's original and still posseses old school roots. There's also a lot of variation in all the songs on this album. Great musician.

I bought an album by chris thomas king recently and really enjoy it. but it wan't what I was wanting. Has he produced any acoustic albums? what are they called? Which is the best?

jr- the album "me, my guitar, and the blues" has some accoustic work on that is awesome. the cd has 11 songs and six or seven are strongly accoustic-roots style blues. also, "the legend of tommy johnson" should be all acoustic, i believe. from what i understand it is a spinoff of the idea of the character he played in "o brother where art thou?" where he plays with the idea of being a 1920's/30's era man who sold his soul to the devil in exchange for being able to play guitar. i assume that it is accoustic with that premise and with what he played on "o brother"

red mud is also an entirely accoustic album

Chris Thomsa King, is GREAT. I perform some of his originals when I perform. I just fell in love with "ME, MY GUITAR, AND THE BLUES", and just worked up a version in the key of G. He plays it in A#, but that is out of my range. To hear more of this nature, check out Tabby Thomas, his Dad, and John Hammond, who is a great white Blues performer who is also a wonderful person. He does many of Robert Johnsons songs, and does them almost note for note like Robert did. Also as has been advised, go to the original recordings of Robert Johnson to hear some "devilishly haunted" blues. Long live the BLUES!
