Catherine Wheel

Forum

Please, anyone can tell me where the band is, if they´re alive, if they´re recording something. I love the band, I have all their albums and I tried to find something about them and I didn´t found nothing at all. All the pages about the band, the news sections are unavaible.

Catherine Wheel is an unbelievable band. Just waiting for their next album is excruciating and painful. I am hanging on for their next north American tour...........

According to their manager Merck, the band is on hiatus, "reinventing the wheel". This is the last anyone has heard of CW - sometime in the year 2000 I believe. Three years, and the band is still nowhere to be seen.. rumours have been heard of a Rob Dickinson solo project, but nothing has materialized yet. =(

Hello hello
Yes, very excrutiating waiting to hear from the band. Ahhhh.
Anybody out there have an idea where I could find the CW B-Sides CD? I cannot locate anywhere, including Amazon.com. Only you would truly understand how important this is.....

Is this how they disappear?
Where is the Catherine Wheel?!?

I know! What the hell is going on with the fab four (or three?) we all know as Catherine Wheel?! I miss the sultry sound of Rob. I'm having withdrawls...

All roads that at one time led to The Wheel are dead ends...... No News Is Not Good News......Q. How can so many no talents like Paula Abdul, J-Blows, and all the rest have such meteoric careers while the truly talented languish in obscurity and fade away?......A. The power of the Mega-Super-Record-Fuhrers..... What a sad world we live in..... The last time i saw them was The Cotton Club in Atlanta for the Wishville tour.....1 word .......Phantasmagorical... You know it's bad when their own official site has not been updated in years..... Why?....Rob if you are reading this....Why?.....Please come back .... You are sorely missed!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel the same way as all of you. I've been a fan since the begining. Chrome is my favourite album. I know there have been record company problems, and sales have been poor of the last 2 albums. You can only hope that an album is on the way.

not sure how often people check this site, but.....I am a big CW fan, there sound is incredible... I am curious if anyone out there knows what type of gear Futter and Dickinson use to achieve those beautiful full/clean sounds on Ferment and Chrome....just curious if anyone knows....thanks

Catherine Wheel is the greatest band in the history of Rock. Thank you Rob!

i feel all of your pain, and of course along side you, incredible fear that
"the WHEEL" will never release another album. the official website has, in the last 3 years, become a smelly turd. i have been a WHEEL fan for 12 years. they, to me, are the greatest band in the world-and Chrome is my favorite RRROOOOOCCKKKKKK album of all time.

So many of today's "emo" bands owe a lot to groups like The Catherine Wheel. C.W. along with Sunny Day Real Estate and The Afghan Whigs paved the way for Jimmy Eat World and Dashboard Confessional. But now these older bands are all having label trouble? With the right marketing from MTV and Clear Channnel, we should be hearing Rob's voice constantly,,,

Well, I was just looking for CW info like everyone else, and I suppose nobody has heard anything. We don't know if they have broken up or what they are doing. I miss their music, and Wishville left me wanting a bit more. Oh, well.

This band has meant everythig musical to me up until a couple of years ago when my main focus had been on Americana and roots/rock-country. But every now and then, my iTunes spits out a CW gem and I stop anything I'm doing and just soak in the beauty of sound those men produce. There is nothing else like it. When a band is so good, that they decide to cover a few tunes from their major influences, and those recordings eclipse the original songs (Pink Floyd, Rush), well, I think that speaks for itself. Long live the wheel.

CW are very much over! Rob is recording his solo album at the moment and the rest of the band are engaged in various things.
Just stumbled across this site so thought I'd let you know. I live around the corner from Ben's parents up in bonnie Scotland. Sorry.

>>By Peter   (Tuesday, 15 Jul 2003 15:44)

Say it ain't so. Why, then, does the sad ol' CW site remain? They are classy enough guys to officially let fans know that it's over if it's really over. Until I see a statement from the band, I shall keep hope. My understanding is that Rob was really whipped by the lack of label support for Wishville. Hope that didn't sour him for good.

Hopeful in Alabama

Hi Guys,

Well just so you know. Robert Dickinson is making a Solo, and I think he will go on tour sometime next year. His Solo is supposed to be real good.

I'm startinv for a CW album myself...listne to how psycho I am about this band: I cut out the little glyph they have on everything or whatever and tanned it onto my hip. I have a CW tanline! (Yes, I'm from California) anyway you all have said some stupid things on here so just thought I'd interject.

>>By Medea   (Tuesday, 7 Oct 2003 07:11)

Just because the band members are involved in other projects doesnt mean CW is gone for good. right.........
Im willing to do just about damn near anything i can to make them come back. Ha ill buy all their albums, drum up publicity, he yim unemployed now. damn it. ive never even gotten to see a show. such sadness...
well at least i can get rob's solo album
