Hi all!
Has anyone heard about some Fashion event, in Manchester at Bridgewater Hall that Bryan Ferry is headlining at? on 10th of September. Sounds quality!
See you there!
Mike

Is Jealous Guy the John Lennon song?

I had the chance to see Bryan Ferry with Roxy Music in Toronto. It was a long time ago. I don't remember much, but I do know I had a great time.

da king of kool

loved his suave stylings in Roxy Music
especially the early stuff when Brian Eno was a band member

his solo stuff
post Roxy Music
ain't too shabby either

i'm pretty sure 'Jealous Guy' is about John Lennons' demise
(on a tangental note
what's up with "The Catcher In The Rye"
i mean, the freak who shot Lennon was
obsessed with this book as was the lousy shot who
had a crack at Reagan in between daydreaming of
Jodie Foster
Maybe they were just taking Holdens'
"crusade against phoniness"
a tad too far)

Hi again Helmet. We seem to be posting in a lot of the same discussions. "Jealous Guy" is a song John Lennon wrote. In it he apologizes (maybe to Yoko Ono) for hurting a woman's feelings with his jealousy. Giambotta said she liked how Bryan Ferry sings Jealous Guy. I was wondering if it was the Lennon song or another one that just happened to have the same title. I just googled "Bryan Ferry" and "Jealous Guy". I found out that Roxy Music had a number one hit with their recording of the Lennon song. I don't think I've heard the Roxy Music version. I'll have to look out for it.

the Roxy Music cover of 'Jealous Guy'
is very heartfelt
it was recorded & released not too long after Johns death
&
you can really hear the sadness in Bryans voice

'Love Is The Drug'

The Roxy Music cover sounds good. I'll have to find a copy.

hey Mikey _ C

i think it was strictly a singles release
not a part of any album

you're best bet is probably to find it on a 'best of' compilation CD
(i guess there's always the music download option too)

yes the single is on a best of comp...that's where i heard it. made me all teary eyed...something about that man's voice. start to quiver
