Brad Mehldau

Forum

I actually knew Brad back in my days at Eastman, when Maria Schneider was there and Tim Albright and the gang. Great guy, love him to death, plays the SHIT out of the piano....The one problem I have is the Radiohead. Can't cover Radiohead, just can't do, can't, can't can't. I talked to Thom after he heard the record, it just didn't work, didn't pop.

He´s extremely proud of himself .
DOES ANYBODY REALIZED THAT THE VOL 4. BACK TO VILLAGE....... IS EXTREMELY BALANCED TO THE RIGHT (I MEAN THE SOUND OF THE PIANO). IT´S A GREAT SHIT ON ENGINEERING AND IN MY OPINION, THAT MAKE THE CD A GREAT MISTAKE.

Even I said that the sound of the vol.4 is rubish, I also state that l do enjoy "Places", for me is his best recording (and I had all of them except the last double Cd, "Largo" and "Elegyac").

BUT OVER ALL OF THAT......THE ONLY,THE ONE, THE EVER GREAT IS AND WILL BE..........

MR. KEITH JARRET (and cía) Standards.
No one has made such a large and huge melody line he does.

Sorry to bother you, but- please remove the other listing with my name on it. I didn't write it, I've never met Brad, and heard him love only once- someone is having fun at my expense. The one time I heard him, I actually did like the Radiohead cover a lot. Otherwise, I don't have any exceptional opinions...

I have to agree about the Radiohead covers--I think it's great to hear
those songs filtered though the sieve of someone else's experiences;
kind of like reading an english translation of a book written in Japanese.
(When is H. Murakami coming out w/something new?)
