Barry Manilow

Forum

I hear some folks laughing at barry's music, saying it's too soft or "whining". But for me Barry manilow is the one to turn to when I want nice songs. His music is really "music'. it doesn't try to impress anybody or prove anything. It comes from the singer's heart. I grew up with Bary manilow's music, and i still wait for his new songs until now.

Barry's the best, the greatest, the most talented, & the most adorable man on the face of this earth. There's no other that can(or ever will)top him. I love his voice: the way he talks & sings, I adore his beautiful blue eyes, I love his smile & laughter ..... Lovin Barry 4ever & ever! God bless his heart.

I have been a fan of Barry's from the very beginning. I have been teased quite a bit over the years, but nowhere near as much as he has. Frankly, I don't care what anyone else thinks. When I have been at the very lowest points in my life and I thought there was no way anyone could possibly understand, or that things could never get better, he has been there with the perfect song at the perfect time to remind that I can, in fact, "make it through the rain".
He never ceases to amaze me with his musical talent and it doesn't hurt that he's got the most beautiful baby blues I have ever seen (and he's sexy to boot!).
No, it doesn't matter what anyone else says or thinks, he's definitely got a fan for life here!

I seen Barry Manilow Live for the first time in May 2002 at the Glasgow Clyde Auditorium and as someone with a wide musical taste ranging from Rap to to Easy I was a bit red faced about going to one of his concerts. My mum had always played his records when I was young so I grew up with him I guess. I can say with true honest the man was on stage for two full hours with only one 30 second break and he was no less than astounding. For a guy in his late 50s he bound around the stage like someone half his age and like some other live acts I've seen he didn't perform re worked versions of his material he sang as if he were recording an album. The clarity, diction and power in his voice was evident from start to finish, his jokes and patter (talking) were great too. If he returns to Glasgow I'll be getting tickets again. I would say to people that slag him off to go and see him live he is "the" showman of this century.

I have loved Barry and his music since i first heard him sing "I Write The Songs" that is the most beautiful voice i ever heard (I thought) There isn't a musician out there that can top him.. I went to my first concert in Feb 2002 @ the Fox Theatre in Detroit and wow is all i can say! He is AWESOME! I like to write poems about his music i guess he inspires me in so many ways.. And when I get another chance to see him i will be there for sure...... I LOVE YOU BARRY!

I've known Barry and his songs for almost 30 some years now. They are still just as good as when they were released. I guess that makes them classics doesn't it.
I also like some of the little speeches he makes on the videos and stuff. " You can give in, you can give out, but you don't give up!
"No one can save you, you have to save yourself"
and noone will be sorryer than you if you give up your dreams so "Don't give up your dreams!"
I have to say that Barry really has made a huge impression on my life and I admire him from afar still.
So anyone one going to the Manilow convention in Florida in October.??? See ya' there.!

guys, if you wanna get yourself a nice, romantic, yet passionate date, just pick a guitar and play "can't smile without you" to your girl. it's easy to play, but it will guarantee to melt her heart.

and if you still can't win her after that, JUST SHOOT YOURSELF!!

I happen to love Barry Manilow. His music just makes me melt. So far. I have three of his greatesthits cd's. I get picked on quite a bit but I don't care. He's one of the best son writers and singers of all time. His music is sexy and romantic. I want one of his songs to be sung at my wedding.

Barry Manilow's new project
hey, have you guys heard of a jazz singer Diane Schuur? Barry Manilow co-wrote and produced her latest album “Midnight”. Barry even duets a song “Anytime” with her in the album. it was Barry called and initiated the collaboration with her. “Midnight” also features behind-the-scenes video footage & interviews with Barry and Diane! interesting!

Hey- do any of you like Elton John as well?? He does the same thing for me that Barry's music does, it just relaxes me and makes me happy! Has anyone heard Elton John's latest release, "Remixed"?? It's a 5 track mini-album of old songs he redid in really cool new ways. There is an acoustic guitar version of 'Candle in the Wind' that is just beautiful. If you haven't heard it yet, check out these links I got from Universal...you'll be hooked....
