Why does this otherwise intelligent creature only associate Babyland with VNV Nation? Not that much in common, really...

I was introduced to Babyland in 1995 by my friend John (ozone pilot, if you're out there, drop me an email at deathpixie@hotmail, I miss you!). I borrowed a walkman from a friend so I could take a walk and listen to this mix tape he sent me. The first song on the tape was 'Worst Case Scenario'. It blew my mind. It was all the emotions I was feeling, put into words. I immediately got "You Suck Crap" and "A Total Let-Down". I played them on my industrial show on KUMD every week. I was offered a chance to interview them, through Yigal at Interscope who had a friend who knew them. I was too chicken to do it. I didn't know what to ask. Each album had the anger and confusion I was going through. I introduced the band to anyone and everyone who would listen. Time went on, life got better. I got to go out to L.A., but it was only for a weekend, and it must have been the only weekend Babyland wasn't playing. I didn't get to see them. I heard "Who's Sorry Now", and again was blown away at how close to my life and emotional state it was. Again, time went on, life got better. I got "Outlive Your Enemies". I loved it. I cried when I heard 'It Never Ends'. It put my life and emotions into words, with beautiful beats and sounds. I just recently got a job after a long stretch of unemployment, and purchased "2002". Again, wonderful. I still don't have any questions to ask. Just keep making music. People who didn't feel like anyone understood, people with what feels like no hope in their lives are counting on it. THANK YOU!!!!

Babyland is one of the best bands of any genre. And they keep getting better! That's why they need to play more shows in the NW, Portland if you dare....

I just saw them 2 days ago for the very first time in my life. All the people I was with were super excited that they were going to see them, and I was sure that they were just making a big fuss and that they couldn't be possibly as good as everybody saying....BUT!!!! When they started playing the first song, my jaw literally dropped, fuck, they were so good!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes and my ears, it was unbelievable, that was one of the best gigs I've ever been to in my entire life! They are fucking fantastic!!! You have to see them live you guys, it's a huge experience!!!
