I find it interesting that most of what you have said starts with " I heard".....I suppose you have some reliable source? Not likely. Mr.Bocelli's personal life is not much of anyones business. Do you wear a halo and angel wings.....I doubt it. Whatever his private life might entail, in no way affects the way he sings. As for being stupid, I think that you are the one whom that label applies to. I personally have no intention of tackling the man to the ground and slipping between the sheets, perhaps that was your agenda which did not pan out......sounds like a reasonable explanation for why you are both so bitter. Food for thought hmm? I suggest you don't judge, I'm sure if the media and public dove into your personal life they could dish up alot on you too.

I too have heard rumors for years--but never ever any proof. no one has ever stepped forward with names dates photos. so i no longer listen to this stuff. even if true it doesn't detract from his talent, he still is a wonderful singer. there are people out there who just dont like the man and try to put him down at every chance. give it up. you are losing the battle. he is hotter than ever.

Is it the fact that Bocelli seems to possess more talent, sweetness and appeal than either Placido or Elvis that irks you so much? Give it up! Your words can't change that anyway.

Wow ! Where did you Bocelli-ladies come from? I posted the above in November. My point is the man needs prayer. We all need prayer. I am no angel. I am Italian and while I was there on vacation this summer to visit relatives I spoke to people that knew him. Conclusion: the man is over the deep end. Instead of adoring his voice you fans should be praying for the guy. He is the one that is a bitter man. I agree he has a voice of an angel and I have his Sacred Aria CD in which upon my father hearing that CD came to know God and was convinced Andrea was blessed by God with an angel voice. Tears came to my old fathers face as he heard Andrea sing. He died before he could see Andrea in concert and I wished to God he could of been there to hear Andrea in concert. I have admired Andrea, but it is clear that man needs prayer.

Prayer? Do you believe in praying to get things done, or changed, or problems solved? Wake up!

Well, I can see this is what gossip leads to. No matter if that gossip's been written or just told in a small village. As a matter of fact, I never listen to gossip. I know that a lot's been said about Andrea. I happen to know him personally, and his family too. One can never judge someone just on base of rumours. I agree gossip makes good talking on parties and forums etc. But not for me. And talking about prair: Yes, I do pray for him daily. I hope he'll find happiness again, and I hope his career will be going to continue like it does now.

Ciao, Nina.

Ciao Nina,
So, you know his family, good. You must know him very well too and that is good.....then you tell him that he has a gift from God within his voice. If he is able to sing and bring a tear to an old stubborn Italian man's eyes, if he is able to sing and bring hope to a blind child's ambition, then he must not abuse that gift. He is chosen whether he likes it or not, he is chosen. You tell him than Nina, I challenge you to tell him that. I apologize for causing such a stir, but where you all came from is a mystery to me.

Enough of Gossip, Buon Natale Signora Nina e Signore Bocelli

Placido/Lisam.....
Your unsubstantiated accusations and comments really belong in one of those tabloids that do a pretty good job at slander.....

Gee - I just like his singing and songs - I don't think he has a voice of an angel - just a very very pleasant voice with good singing ability and skill - don't get me wrong, I love hearing it. As for anything else, including prayer, I dlon't care. the only thing I prayer for is for everyone to be able to know God, and to be safe and happy.

I was disappointed as well when I realized that he was not Saint Andrea because in the beginning that was pretty much my feeling. Then I began to realize that nobody is perfect. We are all struggling. Someone said of Andrea (and I don’t remember who or where, but feel it says it all) that he is an imperfect man in an imperfect world – and aren’t we all, so who are we to judge! The only thing I would add to that is – He who is without sin, cast the first stone! His voice can bring a tear to your eye – it matters not whether you are a hardened old man or a babe in mother’s arms – or anywhere in between the voice will melt your heart and peace and comfort will surround you. Now that power has to count for something and so I will remain very much in his corner. Besides some people have a way of taking a little truth and blow it into something way out of line.

Still Full of Admiration

>>By skeptical   (Monday, 9 Dec 2002 13:23)

Ok, so this discussion continues. I only jumped in because some others were upset by reading this forum. My drive? Well, I was, I am and I always will be myself, and when a friend is offended, I feel free to defend him. My drive is called friendship for a friend which has become very dear to me. I read here severe accusations. If you haven't any proof of what you're saying, you better beware. Someone might find out who you are and sue you for libel.
Ciao, Nina.

Well, to my relief I see that the accusations have been removed. Thanks moderator!
Ciao, Nina.

well, I really havnt heard Bocelli at all.

But I have listened to a few people recently on English Radio Classical Channels (no, not classic Fm - thats is a pop station) saying that people like Bocelli cannot be considered great classical/opera singers. Perhaps he could be a great Classical/Opera singer, but the point is, that he sings pop and people like him are destroying classical music, by watering things down, compromising etc. to make it more accesible for the masses.

As I mentioned, I havnt listened to him, I will perhaps, but I am turned off my his 'pop' imagec and his massive record deals.

So the question is to all of you Bocelli lovers out there, just how does he compare to the present and past opera singers?

Bocelli, may bring a tear to your eye, but is he actually any good?

I wanted to know what people think is the most significant event that happened in his life. Was it his intoduction to opera? the horse he was given as a child? being sent away to boarding school? marrying Celine Dion? becoming blind? discovering his voice?

Then can you tell me why? If I could figure out what is most significant, maybe people could understand some simple truths about Bocelli.

I'm doing this for a Meadowdale High School Orchestra Final. What I have to do is present a musical person, write a five-page essay, create a diorama of his/her life, explain the ttruths and flaws of a movie about him/her, and analyze a piece of work he/she has done. Please help.

Right now I'm reading a biograhpy that he wrote and I haven't been able to find useful information on the internet; hopefully you guys can help.

What I really need desperately is to find three different program critiques by the same author or three authors doing a critique on the same program. If I could get some sources that would be awesome-worthy.

Thank you much! ;)

I think Andrea Bocelli has a wonderful voice, but i was rocked to hear ,true or untrue that he & his wife had seperated,if it is true,I can only hope that he finds happiness in his life again ,he has a god given voice.

Sometimes when you hear someone sing a song whether it's pop, classical, or an opera, it can be very apperent if that person is singing with his/her heart or just singing a couple of hollow words. It isn't in how the person looks or acts. It simply is in their heart and nature, and the truth can't help but come out, that Andrea has what it takes to touch people in the most profound way. Everything else is irrelavant. It's evidently clear to the masses, that his voice is no hollow one. Those people who can't hear that heart wrenching truth, have yet to find themselves. Whether I'm hearing Celi De Toscana, Songo, Romanza, Aria, or Sacred Arias he voice brings me a serenity I need just to feel relief for the week. For me, he is my haven, and I thank God for granting him that beautiful voice and in turn granting the oppurtunity for peace.
All these onslaughts I've been hearing don't bother me in the least. I don't know nor care exactly why people discredit him. Perhaps they have yet to find their haven. Whatever anyone's reasons may be for taking an ill will towards him, cease, for your words resound in empty space.

I've been a fan of Bocelli for years now. My children and I love his voice and his music. We've been introduced to other Italian musicians from the wonderful duets on his CD's. What a voice he has and how blendable with other lovely voices! I was just listening to one of his CD's in the car and thought I'd see if there was a discussion board for his work. Glad to see one is here. :-)
