AFI is the most kick ass band, and ot me tey are my savior from pop music before i heard of them i was a bsbs and nsync fan it was HELL!! Well im just saying that AFI has a punk sound that is still fresh and i know they will never sell out Cause They KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!

i think that afi is a various band with a big evolution behind their back.
listen to "answer that and stay fashionable" and "art of drowning"..........
theres a fucking big difference but they still kick ass!!
davey is my idol and he fucking kocks.
he has an amazing voice;he can sing with a really high voice like

i didnt really know anything about punk or hardcore or whatever you want to call it untill about a year and a half ago, but i do know one thing , and thats AFI kicks ass. I can put alot of the lyrics to my everyday way of life. if it wasnt for my best friend i would never have heard of them, she is my "one for one thousand aquainted" thats the type of lyrics i am talking about

afi used to be my favorite untill i found out about a global threat and just because there on the radio doesent make them mainstream there sound is awsome there not trying to be like like all the other punk bands there sound is new and fresh i got answer that and stay fashinable and the art of drowing big difference they went from hardcore punk to a dark melodic punk i like there old stuff better but there new stuff kicks ass too

AFI is the best harcore band ever damn it!
Its also cool to see that many people are now joining afi loyal fans to support them but just dont judge afi by the songs you listen on the radio because most of their best stuff is never played on the radio.UNDERSTAND AFI is not an emo nfg,blink,offspring band they are a hard east bay core punk rock band!!!

There new shit sounds great, they keep on getting better and better, AFI's sound is like no others, fuck anyone who accuses them for selling out. I dont give a shit if there on mtv or the radio, they dont care ethier, I can give a shit less if they decided to make a little more money by apperaing to the public eye. I am glad that there sound is getting out to everyone, you can only keep unremarkable talent like this underground for so long.

No one in this room can really talk like they know what AFI is all about until they actually attend one of their live shows. At the 2002 VANs warped tour at the gorge, AFI took the stage as a swarm of true fans emerged from the once boring crowd before. Hands raised and voices screamed the lyrics of AFI throughout the entire set. Never before has a band so entranced the audience, and that is why AFI will only get better, and all you pop punk assholes can drown in a whithering fad that wont last.

alright, i could care less about who likes what band, and so on and so forth. all i gotta say is im dedicated 100% to afi, and if you truly like afi for their music then i think thats the most important thing. because thats what they want, they want people to like them for their music. regardless of what other bands you like. they're in it for the music, and if you are too,then all the more power to you. like them for their music.

Think about it honestly...AFI is getting a bit more well known but it doesn't change their skill. Even if *shiver* blink and sum41 kids start listening to some of it, AFI won't ever change. They will still keep kicking ass. And you know damn well that once people start hearing more of their stuff on the radio their gonna make tons of money. When the mainstream kids are done with them then they'll go back underground to their true fans. I've been a fan since '95 and won't ever quit.

Aww man, I don't know what to say. I like AFI's old stuff, I don't like their new stuff. I'm not going to toss around words like 'sell out' but I can tell you that as a simple observation their music has changed sufficiently for their new stuff not to be to my taste.
I think its a shame as well. Old fans and new fans aren't really getting on alongside each other, I guess you can't cater for stuff you've grown out of.
I like the intro track to the new album, although it sounds like the terminator theme tune.

well, to start off, AFI fucking kicks ass. Jade is an awesome guitarist and Dave has so much fucking talent its crazy, he has own unique sound and it truly kicks ass. theyve been around for about 8 yrs and in that time their sound has evolved completely. theyre known for great punk, hardcore, and just plain rock music. their new album, sing the sorrow, cant really be put into a category, its so diverse and awesome sounding.
those of u who hate AFI now for selling out to dreamworks and being on the radio and mtv should FUCK OFF. u should like AFI for the music they make, not what record label theyre on or if theyre on the radio and TV.

Yeah AFi is cool, I like there old old stuff better. This band is hecka talented. They have there own style. I Agree with everyone that says to not like them cause there on the radio. You think Blink 182 and Sum 41 is punk, thats just not cool. If your ganna become a "fan" learn the history and listen to everything they done. This last album is more mellow, its like chill music(kinda, they have some ok stuff). But Still GOOD.
