He´s a drummer and a musician. Many other drummers have a great developed tecnique but no special taste when to express it..Vincent Colaiuta have that special ability! His technique is brilliant. Some times it seems he doesn´t know what he just did so well..!
If I have an idol - I´ll have him.//Bjorn Bodin. SWEDEN

I remember Vinnie back in 1976 when he was a mere 20 year old playing his heart out at Boston's defunct Jazz Workshop on Boylston Street. His first album was with the Christopher Morris Band, produced by Al Kooper and featuring Chris and Janet Morris, on guitars, Tim Landers, on bass, Ted Lo. on keyboards, Les Kuipers, on lead guitar, and Al Kooper, on organ. Additional artists included the Tower of Power horn section, and the Hinckling Singers. I have one of the extremely rare Christopher Morris Band albums left and will not part with it since it is very first album featuring Vinnie as an up and coming artist.

Thats so funny cos i saw the Chistopher Morris band open up for BB King at the no more Jazz Workshop, I believe on Boylston Ave in Boston around the mid 70's and Vinnie was playing awesome drums too!
