Discussion: Tim Buckley

Too crazy, no listing yet for Tim Buckley! Okay, I start yet another. Tim Buckley was far more than the man who sired Jeff Buckley. He was an AMAZING!!! songwriter and singer. His move from pure folk guitar and vocals to the jazz singer with jazz-influenced music that he became moved popular music into new realms of possiblity like Love, The Beatles, The Velvet Underground, and Zappa were doing at the time. While some songs wax a bit too poetic at times, his singing makes everything okay. For fans of Jeff, so much of the same singing style that makes his performances so outstanding and affecting are also in Tim's work. Listen to "Happy Sad" (my favorite album of his), "Goodbye and Hello", the difficult but wonderful "Starsailor", and any of his live recordings for all the proof you will need. ENJOY!

Tim is a legend. 'Happy Sad' is good but 'Greetings from LA' is better.
'Sweet Surrender' is the greatest song ever sung.

Yeah, "Happy Sad" is my favorite too... the guitar work by Lee Underwood is amazing... One of the most depressive albums Ive ever heard, too.
