Yoko Kanno was asked to help with the cowboy bebop soundtrack, so she put together a jazzy/blues/rock band to do the music. That's why you don't see them much outside of the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. Anyhow - my opinion - they're awesome! It's not like your conventional jazz music. It's great and some of the lyrics remind me of Bob Dylan, especially The Real Folk Blues. Great lyrics. No band has excited me as they have in quite a while. I haven't heard drumming like that since Buddy Rich. My personal favorite is "Too Good Too Bad." But I would also like to mention "Bad Dog No Biscuit" "Memory" "NY Rush" or course "Tank" "Mushroom Hunting" "Stella by Moor".......ect. Bebop's probably my favorite show but I hope I hear more from the band in the future.
