Discussion: The Orb

Is there an official website for The Orb, or is there an UnOfficial weebsite ...!?

What about: www.badorb.com

Dr Alex went underground, putting up artists sounding just like The Orb

Not knowing much about The Orb, where can I find some history on the band (or man). I understand he did some amazing, groundbreaking things with synths, electronics, and recording processes.

I would like to find out about an Orb track / album that had a song that was a remix of 'the sound of music's' 'favorite things' ...
A freind was at an event where this was played and desperately wants to own the album ... I want to buy the album for friend as a suprise gift.

badorb is a sideproject the good dr did...i have the 41 min badorb mix that is very cool...i used to be a deadhead till one day i got turned on to the Orb and never looked back...some of his best work i think is from Ultraworld/ Pomme Fritz/all his Pfloyd trance remixes are unbelieveable and of course his live performances if he hasnt taken too much acid are flawless....there is a live bootleg that is very good called Dipping into the Cyberworld which has a sweet mix of an ORB live classic called "Vallley"...it might interest some to know that Paul Oakenfold 'discovered" alex @ Space on Ibiza..and helped with many others produce what became Ultraworld which many claim as his benchmark in ambient hypnotica dub
