the clash were like the best band ever sadly now we have to listen to so-called good guys like eminem , but on the other hand screw them I'll listen to the clash forever because they "punk" rock . My parents were Clash fans too , I'm 13 and I live in north west nebraska.

The Clash is one of the first bands to incorporate 'world music' in another genre of music. They are one of the first punk bands to move away from the sterotypical 'Three Chord Punk'. Its odd that The Sex Pistols actuealy influenced The Clash, because they are at two ends of the punk spectrum. Yet they actuealy toured together. That is amazing to think about, well thats Punk Rock.

to all you loyal fans, THANKS FOR EVERYTHING, i wish i just could have done something that mattered when i was up here.

The Clash's music validated punk rock. The Clash crafted timeless songs and fashioned the template for other bands to follow. They showed that you don't have to box yourself into a musical corner. As long as you have passion in the tracks, it doesn't matter what style of music or what instruments you use. LONDON CALLING is one of the top 5 albums of rock n roll and THE CLASH and GIVE EM ENOUGH ROPE aren't far behind. Joe Strummer, you're awesome! Thanks bro!

Complete Control till the day I die.
From 1977 to Spanish Bombs and If Music Could Talk the Clash were in a league of there own, thats without London Calling which to me is the best selection of music you will ever get on a LP.
There were 2 great singers in the Clash just listen to Mick Jones singing Lost in the Supermarket With Jo backing,

A Clash City Rocker

if you want a classic Clash track get Joe at his best: singing:
Police and Thieves 5m58s on kazzaa

Just picked up a great CLASH tribute album - all Clash songs played by Rockabilly bands! Good to hear this stuff from a different angle. Got mine from www.raucousrecords.com which is the record company's website, but I'm sure it'll be available in the shops too.

The Clash is the best rock'n' roll band ever! They are such an inspiration to me. Their whole career was amazing and was unfortunately cut off way too soon. I will miss Joe, but what he did for me is amazing and I thank him for that, as well as Mick, Topper, and Paul. Thanks guys. and tahnk you so much for Sandinista! its the best album ever.

I saw the boys 7 times in the UK and Germany, and each concert was a fucking high, i have mates who saw them 25 times or more.
The Clash are/were the best band ever and their music inspires me to greater feats of lunacy than ever. From the old history books down to battling bazzocks.... Lets rock again!!!!!

r.i.p joe strummer

>>By chris   (Thursday, 26 Jun 2003 21:31)

The Clash were the Fergie of punk, While the Sex Pistols were the Diana. Don't get me wrong they were a one off in their own right.A well rounded band who could keep it tight, but while playing live they used to start to fast and burn out towards the middle of the set. I miss them like the rest of you, Why could'nt they have sought out their differences and done some come-back gigs like the pistols,There was word that they were going too do this, 20 years on after the split,That's not going to happen now with the going of Joe.
So back to playing my old records and thinking about the old days..........Punks Not Dead

>>By Hedgie   (Monday, 15 Sep 2003 21:37)

"joe strummer sang about white riots while he lived in white mansions"

- i forget who said it, but that quote sure does show you how real the clash were! hahahahahaha
