I love the Carpenters also. Karen Carpenter is easily the finest female vocalist of alltime. she has a beautifully smooth, bold, dark and mysterious voice.

I was wondering if I could draw on the substantial knowledge of the Flork community on music to ask if anyone knows the name of the song which had as part of its chorus: "Don't you remember you told me you loved me baby." "Said you'd be coming back this way again (maybe or baby)" "Baby, baby, baby ... ... ... I love you I (truly or really) do"

Thank you

I think that's "Superstar," written by Leon Russell. They did another one of his songs, "Masquerade."

Wow! Thanks a lot justaguy. I was having no luck on my own trying to find it through amazon.com samples. You know, I think this would be a great song for Cake to cover.

Karen was a very talented singer. It's just a shame her voice wasn't tested & stretched by more serious material.

>>By nonyeb   (Wednesday, 3 Feb 2010 08:53)

Agreed, Karen was an exceptional artist...and as such she was an exceptionally tortured soul as well. Many might not realize it cuz so many of their songs were so upbeat but if one listens to the lyrics you find the dark side of her soul...
