Ok. First of all, Im not copying anyone with the tbsrawksmysocks thing. Its my AIM screen name. I use it for everything. Another thing. Tbs is a kick ass band and i seriously hope they dont stay on hiatus very long because they are my fave. anyways. Till Next Time!

You people are disgusting. And based on the dialogue I'm reading here, I'm guessing you're all suburban kids under the age of 15. And you've all got cellphones with crazy lights and personalized covers on them too, right?

I don't know what causes people to write music like that of Taking Back Sunday, but frankly, I'm glad they went on hiatus. Less of their aural pollution could do the world a huge favor. How do you guys seriously enjoy listening to this guy scream about the same girl for an hour? And seriously, the lyrics are so disgustingly emo it makes me want to throw up. You know what this band sounds like? It doesn't sound like Thursday, or Dashboard Confessional (thankfully; I don't think the universe could handle two bands that crappy), or even Jimmy Eat World, who's older material I actually enjoy. They sound like a bunch of rich white suburban kids (like you guys!) who have never heard of Led Zeppelin. So do yourself a favor, grow up and stop listening to this pathetic trash. None of your lives are that bad. This music is awful. Destroy Victory records.

you know what i think? i think that it shouldnt make a difference if your a suburban kid or a fucking ghetto child. Listen to the shit you like and dont pay attention to closeminded assholes. I happen to like taking backs sunday and think that they kick serious ass. Sure little suburban kids with cell phones and all that fake shit like them, but other poeple like them too, so grow the fuck up and open your mind to other peoples music. I don't know them but i hear they are all for their fans and write about stuff that is important to them, did it ever occur to you that people have different morals? IM ALL FOR TAKING BACK SUNDAY

You can find lyrics for Taking Back Sunday at www.plyrics.com/t/takingbacksunday.html (i know that post was a while ago, sorry). Anyway, TBS is my favorite band. Meaningful lyrics along with stories behind them is what I love most. What can you not like about them, honestly? There's No "I" in Team and Cute Without the "E" (cut from the team) are two great songs. Actually, all of their songs are great. I ::heart:: Taking Back Sunday!

I think Taking Back Sunday is cool. I own thier CD and their lyrics are amazing. My fav. song is "the Blue Channel".

>>By Knoxville grl

For one, I think almost every artist is 'all for their fans'. They aren't too bad, but in two songs, he uses the same two words, 'wishful thinker'. Probably the worst thing is, they're quite nerdy looking. The bass player nipple rides, for Crap's Sake! And yes, what the band looks like kinda has an effect on me. Not their looks, but what they wear, and 'carry themselves'.

My comment was fucking stupid.

Taking Back Sunday is so fucking awesome... They're a great band and they have a lot of talent, but I liked them better when it was Adam, John, Shaun, Mark, and Eddie... I don't really like the new guys... but Straylight Run is an awesome band... it has John and Shaun in it... plus John's sister, Michelle, and this other guy... sorry, I forgot his name. Oh and the Seventy times 7 and there's no 'i' in team story goes like this: Jesse Lacey (lead singer of brand new) and John Nolan were bestfriends... and Jesse's girlfriend cheated on him with John, and so Jesse got mad at John and wrote the song Seventy times 7 for John, and then John (and Adam) wrote "There's no 'I' in Team" in response... and they borrowed some lyrics... but everything is cool with John and Jesse now... but they are sorta mad that Taking Back Sunday is still playing a song based on their experience, they don't think it's right.

I really like Bike Scene, I think they did a good job writing that, and of course, You're so Last summer has some of the best lyrics I've heard... but I really, truly love all TBS songs.

And to everyone who says that Taking Back Sunday whines and complains to much... FUCK YOU. AT least they share their experiences with their fans and aren't fucking cold whimps like most of the bands today... they have an almost overwhelming passion in the songs they write and it's so great... they're aren't many bands out there that you can say that about... and everything they say they really mean, it's not completely false... and they aren't whining about just one girl... it's everything that went on in their lives that had some impact on them, maybe a friend died, or maybe their parents got divorced... it's actual stuff... and they sing about it cause they treat their fans like friends and family... so when they write music, it's like telling a friend what's been going on in their lives...

Emo's not a fad... it will live forever...

Sorry, I get a little frusterated, TBS is my favorite band... and I'm an incredibly devoted fan... I live with being "persecuted" because I listen to them every day at school... GOD DAMNED ASSHOLES (majority of them are "punks" or "jocks")... but no matter what... I will always stand up for TBS... cause they deserve it.

>>By Kittie5644

Emo will die one day at the rate its going with all these new bands claiming to be emo, the Emo scene is on a one way elevator to hell.

>>By Emoboy2.0

Yeah, well... emo is just a word... I'm talking about the "emo" music will survive... they could call it bob, but it would still be the same music... so the music will survive...

>>By Kittie5644

But if people stop listening to it, its pretty much extinct then even though theres only a small chance of that.

>>By Emoboy2.0

I will never stop listening to Emo. If I did, I would seriously die or something... Emo is practically my life (which is pretty sad). I really do love it and as long as I'm around it won't be extinct... and plus... I'm gonna force my kids to listen to it (when I have kids)... so there's another generation... yay! I'm so getting my Emo Cds buried with me when I die, and all my "emo" memorabilia. Haha... well Emoboy... you rock anyways cause I don't know very many guys that are openly Emo... maybe 2... but that's awesome...

>>By Kittie5644

Heh thanks. But at my school there is tons of "Emoboys" but wow 2 thats kind of umm sad. Although I wouldn't force the music on the kids let them listen to it but don't force it on them.

>>By Emoboy2.0

Everyone I know hates Emo... and yeah, but there's a couple guys... very few. I told my ex-boyfriend (when we were going out) that I was an Emo kid, and he's like, don't be, I hate Emo kids, and I'm like I guess you hate me and I walked away... he's so dumb. And then people totally make fun of Emo all the time... when some says something mean, they're like, why don't you just go be EMo? or... like people come up to me and ask "why would you want to be Emo... all Emo kids do is cry all the time..." So that's why I feel like yelling at everyone...

>>By Kittie5644

No one has said anything in a while

>>By Kittie5644

Heh i agree with you both. very cool opinions. in my school its mostly wiggers but theres some "punks" and emo kids to.

>>By quitedifferent

one of the reasons i love taking back sunday so much is their lyrics, i can relate to them probably more than any other band i know. they put my feelings into words that i can understand, but yet arent just plain and simple. they found an inbetween and i love that. some bands (like the ones on mtv) just say stuff strait out and it doesnt really make you think, but some bands (like thursday, which i love) but their lyrics are kind of confusing, i dont know maybe im just dumb lol, but i dont really understand half the songs on the new thursday cd, that doesnt stop me from listening to then though, but any ways taking back sunday is amazing :-D oh and sorry for the long post, but all my posts are always long, i talk a lot about music ;-)

>>By callme_8675309

I have a very wide range of musical preferences and I absolutely love TBS. I think I have every single word memorized from Tell All Your Freinds. I won't compare TBS to anyone else cuz they're their own band. They say what they feel and seem sincere in it all. Personally, I only listen to music where the band plays their own instruments and they write their own stuff. That's mostly rock, metal, alternative, but i agree that TBS is one kick ass band and I would love to see them in concert. The type of music you listen to and love shouldn't depend on the type of neighborhood you grow up in. I am not rich or snotty or jocky or popular or live in the suburbs at any level and I love TBS!!

does anyone know when their new cd is coming out?

>>By SoulSlave

i love emo and taking back sunday. so much. ahh

>>By pooka

someone sent me these lines and they said it was from a taking back sunday song... i love the band and i was surprised i hadn't heard it before... now i'm looking up every lyric on the internet by them trying to find it.... if any of you recognize it please tell me!! here it is:

a beautiful girl can make you dizzy like youve been drinking jack and coke all morning...she can make u feel high.. full of the single greatest commodity known to man promise...promise of a better day...promise of a greater hope...promise of a new tomorrow...this particular aura can be found in the gait of a beautilful girl...in her smile and in her soul and the way she makes every rotten little thing about life seem like its gonna be ok...

>>By jzick

i dont know..but those are cool lyrics....

>>By pooka

That was the intro to Great Romances of the Twentieth Century on the demo version

>>By GrimSleeper

yeah, in the beginning, before taking back sunday started the song. was it someone from the band saying it??

>>By SoulSlave

No, it was a sample. I think it was from a Micheal Rappaport movie

>>By GrimSleeper

ok, i was reading those things up there about how suburban kids with cell phones and stuff can't like taking back sunday. Well, you dont know the band too well. The drummer Mark, happens to live and grew up 4 houses away from me in a upper middle class town in a really nice and big, house which was apprasted at 800,000. hes dads like a really big bussiness guy and stuff, and marks cool , he accepts everyone and i odnt know how you can say that suburan kids cant like the band because well, thats just what they are.
