I met them in person 26 years ago. Airrion Love greeted me and my 9 year old daughter as if we were all old friends. But as time went by, the every day ups and downs of life takes priority. 2 scratched LP's were the only reminder I had of my beloved Stylistics, and for a long while I thought they had retierd. I could not belive my luck, when, back in Nov 2002, they did a performance at my local bingo club. I was there! I met them again in person and introduce him to my second daughter now 25. Now, this time round, me and Mr Love are realy old friends. Maybe two or three years. He has cut his own album from what I understand, and two other voices replaced him. Eban Brown and Rock's cousin. I have about 80 songs that I have written espescially for the Stylistics (as good as anything they ever did) and hope to record something with them if the opportunity presents itself. >>By doowopsvoice I have been a #1 fan of the Stylistics since their very first album. I have never seen them in concert nor have I heard a live performance from them. Still I am their #1 fan. If anyone would like to share info on them let me know. >>By ptch I had the pleasure of listining to russell thompkins, jr. new cd called Collection.A Matter of Style. I was impressed . Russell still has that voice. It's unfortunate that Russell is no longer with the Stylistics. Still Russell, Airrion, Herb and the 2 james' are the Stylistics to me. they all have great voices. Have you heard The Stylistics Chirstmas. It's a Must hear. I have'nt heard anything from the Stylistics (without Russell). You guys really sound great together.
