Simon & Garfunkel

Forum

They have a power, with the voice of Garfunkel and the lyrics of Simon, to evoke a time, a place, and a person. But for each it is different.

Paul and Art are the greatest thing in the whole world!!! When you read this message, know this, whoever you are: I LOVE THEM!!! I'd really like to meet them. Just one time would be enough! I LOVE YOU, GUYS!!!

>>By Arty   (Friday, 24 Jan 2003 17:04)

Yeah, it's me again...
I am too young to be one of their original fans, but from two years I live for them.
I play the guitar now just because I'd like to play as paul does. Me and some friends of mine, we really love Paul & Art and we sing only their songs!
As solos artists, they are great, but together they are MAGICAL!!! I hope to meet them, some day...
Paul, Art...If one of you is reading this thing, remember that in Italy there's a girl who breaths just for you!!!
Best wishes.
PS: Art, you're wonderful, and you'll be always on my mind with Paul!
PEACE & LOVE = S&G!!!
Arty

I have to say three of my favorite songs are "hazy shade of winter," "dangling conversation," and "homeward bound." Their work is amazing and powerful. They are two very talented and musically gifted men, whom I admire and respect. They, along with Trey Anastasio (&Phish), and the Beatles are some of my favorite musicians. They leave me in awe!

Simon and Garfunkel is beautiful poetry that some retards (lk, mom) cannot understand. Their lyrics are very meaningful and you need to listen to the lyrics before you make some dumbass judgements. I think that Simon and Garfunkel are what you call music, their not just some dumb 30 second song that is just noise. So all you idiots out there who are quick to judge can go get nut cancer!!!!!!

HOW AMAZING ARE THE LYRICS? these guys amaze me the totally know what they are talking about and every single one of their songs beats any other!

Musicians like Simon and Garfunkel are not found often. Their lyrics are source of inspiration. Beautiful sounds come out of them. My mother was the one who got me to listen to them, and now, I am a fan as well.

do you guys understand the lyrics to mrs robinson? chiefly, why go from saying "jesus loves you more than you will know" to some purposefully misplaced mention of joe dimaggio? what statement is this making?

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkle are truly amazing. Their musical abilities and song writing talents are amazing, and really hope they know how much they have added to my life. I am a huge fan, and I truly hope that I will have a chance to meet them some day. Their lyrics are very inspirational. Paul Simon has a rare talent that alows him to express his feelings and emotions through music, and Art Garfunkle has the most amazing voice I have ever heard! No one will ever be able to sing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" like he does. Also, Paul Simon is by far the most talented guitar player I have ever heard! I have so much respect for them, and I really hope that they will consider getting together one more time to do one last concert. I know that I would most definitly be there!!! I love every song that Simon and Garfunkle have ever sang, and I hope that they continue to share their musical talent with the world. >>>From Nicole B

Simon + Garfunkel's lyrics to their music are a mish-mash of pedophilia, crazy-ass euphoric banality and a whole heap of whining about their or society's misfortunes. They split up because they both had bleeding anuses from critics and people like you shovelling praise down them. In their heart of hearts both of them knew that they were just a two-man tinpot band that reeked of chattered nappies. They both should have got a real job instead of whatever the hell they thought they were doing, bickering about who had the most gaping anus.

Man, I love Simon and Garfunkel! I'm also too young to truely
appreciate them, seeing how I was born in '87.....but their songs
are great! There's actually meaning to the lyrics, and philosophy.
I doubt I'd appreciate their musical genius if I was not in my high
school's drumline when we played a show for an entire year
consisting of S & G songs. Also, if I was alive when they started
as Tom and Jerry, I doubt I would have listened to them: I don't
care for some of their old "folk songs" that sound like country. But
even out of that comes songs like Sparrow, He Was My Brother,
and the original Sound of Silence that wasn't all made-up by
record companies. However, all of their music is still gold!

Hey!!! I'm new here, I've just download a song off Kaaza that was supposed to be a Simon and Garfunkel song, I'd never heard of it before but after listening to it I was dumbstruck, without a doubt it had to be an s&g song, one of the best @ that, has anyone else heard of it, it's called The Room and here are some of the lyrics:

I once pushed a button,
That opened a door,
That led to a dimly lit room,
I entered the door and I gazed in,
And I saw a table right there,
There were some chairs next to the table,
But I wasn't bothered to count,
And on the wall there lay a picture,
Of a dog eating a bone,
Then I saw an old man,
Crouched in the corner,
And he was smoking a pipe
I asked him:

Sorry I'm still working on getting the rest of the lyrics, but has any1 else heard of that song???? My other friends haven't but they're not as avid s&g fans as me, I need to know that I'm not crazy....
Si=)

What was the name of that song.....?
I'm a huge fan of S&G and I can't say I know those lyrics at all.
It's over a year since you posted that message....oh well.

Art is my desire
Paul is my savior
