Okay, I USED to have a cassette tape of Sergio Mendez' Brazil 77, I still have it somewhere but it's damaged. I need to find this music. One of the songs of that is "Bridges". Need to find that. Can't. Need help. I have some of his music like Brazil 66 and Braziliero and I like it, it's hip tight clean and snazzy music, but I want Brazil 77. Nobody's ever even heard if it hardly, every time I mention it someone says "you mean Brazil 66, or 88. No, I don't mean that, I mean 77.

Sergio Mendez is definitely tops when it comes to Latin-flavored music. His best works for me are Waters of March, If I Ever Lose This Heaven & Like a Lover, which was terribly covered by Tuck &Patti. If anyone has the lyrics of Waters of Marchpls email it to me ok? thanks.

A long time ago in Mexico, I got a record of sergio which had him on the cover in a yellow car (an older car). Most of the songs were not in english. I purchased the US version of the CD a few years ago but all the songs were in english. Somehow, the songs just don't sound as good when they are in english. Does anyone know the record I am talking about and where, if possible can I get the songs. Kaza or some other peer to peer site

A stick, a stone, It's the end of the road, It's the rest of a stump, It's a little alone
It's a sliver of glass, It is life, it's the sun, It is night, it is death, It's a trap, it's a gun
The oak when it blooms, A fox in the brush, A knot in the wood, The song of a thrush
The wood of the wind, A cliff, a fall, A scratch, a lump, It is nothing at all
It's the wind blowing free, It's the end of the slope, It's a beam, it's a void, It's a hunch, it's a hope
And the river bank talks of the waters of March, It's the end of the strain, The joy in your heart
The foot, the ground, The flesh and the bone, The beat of the road, A slingshot's stone
A fish, a flash, A silvery glow, A fight, a bet, The range of a bow
The bed of the well, The end of the line, The dismay in the face, It's a loss, it's a find
A spear, a spike, A point, a nail, A drip, a drop, The end of the tale
A truckload of bricks in the soft morning light, The shot of a gun in the dead of the night
A mile, a must, A thrust, a bump, It's a girl, it's a rhyme, It's a cold, it's the mumps
The plan of the house, The body in bed, And the car that got stuck, It's the mud, it's the mud
Afloat, adrift, A flight, a wing, A hawk, a quail, The promise of spring
And the riverbank talks of the waters of March, It's the promise of life It's the joy in your heart
A stick, a stone, It's the end of the road It's the rest of a stump, It's a little alone
A snake, a stick, It is John, it is Joe, It's a thorn in your hand and a cut in your toe
A point, a grain, A bee, a bite, A blink, a buzzard, A sudden stroke of night
A pin, a needle, A sting, a pain, A snail, a riddle, A wasp, a stain
A pass in the mountains, A horse and a mule, In the distance the shelves rode three shadows of blue
And the riverbank talks of the waters of March, It's the promise of life in your heart, in your heart
A stick, a stone, The end of the road, The rest of a stump, A lonesome road
A sliver of glass, A life, the sun, A knife, a death, The end of the run
And the riverbank talks of the waters of March, It's the end of all strain, It's the joy in your heart.

Bridges - Sergio Mendes, Kevyn Lettau
I have crossed a thousand bridges In my search for something real There were great suspension bridges Made of spiderwebs of steel
There were tiny wooden trestles And there were bridges made of stone I have always been a stranger And I've always been alone
There's a bridge to tomorrow There's a bridge from the past There's a bridge made of sorrow That I pray would not last
There's a bridge made of colors In the sky high above And I'm certain there must be Bridges made out of love
I can see him in a distance On the rivers of the shore And his hands reach out in longing As my own have done before
And I call across to tell him Where I believe the bridge must lie And I'll find it, yes I'll find it If I search until I die
When the bridge is between us We'll have nothing to fear We will run through the sunlight And you'll meet me halfway
There's a bridge made of colors In the sky high above And I'm certain there must be Bridges made out of love
La, la, la...
One Peace, One Love
