>>By Gmoney
werd... no poetry is deeper... he has a way with ideas... incredible.

Saul is the one of the most incredible wordsmiths of our present time...... He's definitely got an "old soul".... He may have been heen here before by the way of his lingo. :-)

saul came to cincy back in april- first performing for a small group of people (myself included) at shake it fast records and when i met him afterward, he was so beautiful and real- just like his spoken word and music. i mean he was tight! that night he performed at bogarts and i was right up in the front, as he gave us the words and sounds to live by. he has the most keen sense of rhythm and soul- i couldn't take my eyes off of him.

Mr. Saul Stacey (Sol-stice) Williams is a heavy brotha. I have much respect for his work and mind. His movie Slam is one of my favorite movies longside Brooklyn Babylon. I think he is an excpetional example of how brothas should be, using the mind way beyond it's normal usage by the majority of the hue-man race. Blessings unto him and all The Most High's children. "Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by another human being...that my friends, is Saul williams. A true mystical lyrical genius whose main goal in life is to capture our minds with his spiritualizing, mesmerising, and tantalizing thru his spoken words. Hopefully when he dies, today or years from now, nature will recycle his earthly frame and new talents will be born, ( the graced cycle which will reder time meaningless.

Saul is truly an inspiration. My indirect literary mentor, actually. This English language doens't have the capacity to contain what appreciatin I have for this man...I study his breathing pattern, analyze his words, and allow his influence to take it's place witihn my own artistrive intuity( did I type that write?)I can't wait to exceed him in the literary world.I love him, but I along with a few others are next to continue revolutionizing our concep of word and launguage. My name is Hapu Maat Odwin. You will hear from me again soon world.

I got a few typos, don't I ?

I think saul williams expressions of the African American community is surpassed only by his intellectual metaphors of manhood. Saul Williams shocks you with every adjective that he uses to stimulate the reader by putting a universal twist on everyday observations and lives.

ohman, saul's call falls on ears with hearts who hear the true fine line and wonder "how do i find mine?", well, mystic so he is, and mystic so you two... follow the Nothing of the Word's beginning, wander intuitive, absent fear of understanding, let any page, person, sound, season speak, in no particular order, save for the grace randomly served thee... believe whole, undoubted and chase it and repeat it in the voice of you shakes, breaks and all, to the you who is "ME", and do not be deterred by mediocrity, for that v`can be weeded free.... williams has burned candles and offered fruit and visions beyond what he visibly shares, and it is in this silence from which he speaks the brilliant alive in thee, he dares you to delve, for this peaceful power is already here, if one relaxes to the absurd, forgets fear or judgement and trumpets in absolute. saul you are a hoot. thanx 4 finding the faithforce to be observed and serving that call to all which is the truhue-man challenge in the mays of displaced (i)deals.

Saul Williams' poetry is like no other. He causes me to feel things I thought I could never feel again about slam poetry.

There are few artist who you can stumble apon just the lyrics of their songs and be hooked on the rymes and the words. The ideas. I tell ton's of people about him. He has such a way with words. If you ever feel that poetry has died with all the crappy mainstream music(sp?) *cough* I really wouldn't consider it that.. But Poetry is Saul, and Saul is poetry. -Zee 'God and I are one, in fact he lets me call him me'

these headlights to eternity, flash right by me, after minutes only i remain, walking with this constant pain, i died last night, my life being in vain, these drugs in my vein, give me shelter from the rain, where did i go wrong? i abstain. maybe i'll catch a train, back to my mind, maybe if i'm kind, the world will rewind, but for now, i'm stuck in now, with horns blazing past me, and my eyes filled with, these headlights to eternity.

My first reply was so riddled with typos that I had to write a second one.Again, Saul is one of my indirect mentors. The concepts and structuring of words which I've allowed to come through me paralleled him so much that I had to turn myself "on"(literally) to him.I'm not just some "fan" in awe of him for his wordplay. In fact, there are many things in which I do not agree with when it comes to him.Plenty.I feel...well, that's truly irrelevant as of now.I'm here to pay acknowledgment to a wonderful man who I know I will "surpass".I feel we should view the positives and negatives with anything and Saul is included.I feel that I(along with a few others) are the logical continuation of someone like Saul. And when I evolve to a certain point, I want someone to be just as, or even more bold and courageous than I to make such statements about me.I repeat brothers and sisters, you will hear from ME.Collectively that is. HAPU ODWIN.

Saul Williams has got to be one of the, if not THE illest fuckin' poets ever!!!! He is so inspirational, and everytime I hear him recite his verses, I get all teary-eyed and shit because his words just touch me in a most remarkable way. Personally being a poet, I am not easily moved by just any work I hear, but Saul Williams' poetry reaches down to the core---every verse makes me say DAMN!!!! And it never fails that everytime I hear his work, I find myself riddled with inspiration to write for days!!! This man is truly gifted, I just wish there was a way to let him know what an inspirational genius he is. I am truly a fan of this truly fantabulous artist; he has truly opened my eyes to a world of poetry that I can relate to in all areas---finally a poet who speaks the same fuckin' language as me and my freestylefanatic-hip-hop heads do!!!! I think the illest thing about Saul's poetry is that it doesn't sound like the "rap" or hiphop that causes such controversy today; he is an artist and discusses the same types of things that you hear in the world of hiphop, but he forms it in an intelligent, artistic manner that captures the soul and leaves you begging for more. I love hiphop music, too, but some- times I can just say "enough!", as for the unforgettable verses of Saul Williams, I can never get enough!!! As you can tell, I am truly a fan, and the art of this artist has made a world of difference in my own outlook on writing poetry; first time I ever heard his work was a couple of years ago when I saw Slam--ever since then, poetry and my personal verse was never the same again.
