The best spanish group

Santa Esmeralda were just the Koik. When you heard the claps and then the Flamenco Guitar kick in, and then it all started.

I bought santa`s record 25 years ago, in 1978. I was 15 years old. Nowadays, I´m 40 and I still love this record.

I go to Mexico ever year....I can't believe the "limited" knowledge of Santa Emeralda. Most of the "pool jockies" that are hired to entertain the guests around the pool have never heard of or listened to Santa Esmeralda. I've asked them to put the CD in ....they play it and the place goes NUTS!.....People are dancing, drinking.....all ages, young and old. I first heard Santa Esmeralda in 1978(?)....never forgot. Found the cd's on www.songsearch.com.....great stuff...the epitomy of party music!

Being 18 and listening to Santa Esmeralda was extatic, "Don´t let me be missunderstood" was definitely a song that marked a generation. In southern Texas "You´re my everything" was a favorite love song for most of my High School Friends. Later on "Another Chacha" and other S.E. hits that were played at the Disco proved that it was not a one hit group. Your sound sure added flavor to the dance floor.

I accidently came across this site while searching for Santa Esmeralda related topics. I first heard "Don't let me be misunderstood" back in March of 1978 at my "Sweet 16" Party and to this date feel the same excitement and thrill with this song. I absolutely love it and love the other songs Santa Esmeralda recorded. Such as "You're my everything", House of the Rising son, Another Cha Cha, Gloria etc.
To Leroy Gomez: I loved your voice and hope that life has treated you kindly!
Blessings to all........
