Discussion: Rx Bandits Pages: 1 2 I have downloaded a few of rx bandits songs and i thought they werent that bad so i am now tempted to buy there album althought i dont no anything about them.>>By Pedro i think that the rx bandits are the best ska band in the world. They have persist through Band members leaving, getting new band members, and being on the road. Their first 2 albums were so called "immature" then they came out with Progress which entroduced the regea and Rock riffs with lyrics of war, goverment, and politics. I feel this is the bands prime with the 6 members and New direction. I love all of their albums, from Those Damn Bandits ska toons, to Progress's Ska influenced.... Hmm... i don't know what to call it, it's indiscribable! I would recomend every one buy the album, you cant get the whole effect from down loads, there is never a pause the whole CD and every thing fits together. Their lyrics as well as sound are outstanding, if anything, go out and buy their albums, perhaps download one or two just to get an idea, but other than that, I strongly recommend them to anyone. They have inspriring lyrics and Mat Embree can rip up the vocals. I had progress burned but I loved it so much I went ahead and bought it. I picked up half way between here and there shortly after. I attended the benifit concert with my cousins and thought they were an awesome band, not to mention that they were down to earth!!! I had an awesome time and now look foward to seeing them again...........Instead of being such harsh critics you should support your local material!!! Not even my type of music and I still think it kicks ass...The boys have plenty of talent and that's out-there for the whole world to see. Keep up the good work guys ;o) >>By Chopper So here's my obsession with Rx Bandits....... Saw them once at Santa Clara University, didn't really dig their live show AT FIRST because I was expecting real, true ska, with blaring brass instruments and weird dancing. They definitely were DIFFERENT though, I gave them props for that. I liked how they combined hard, thrashing metal influences with really loud trombone playing, it really worked well! Also their reggae songs were really catch and really nice. The audience seemed to actually DANCE to them, they was awesome. Then a few months later I bought their CD "Progress" and I was just absolutely blown away. Let's just say listening to their CD is much different than seeing them live, because the recording equipment they used was f*%#king state of the art and you could hear EVERYTHING perfectly. "Progress" is the most well-recorded album I have EVER heard......PERIOD. Rx Bandits kick ass! Everything from their lyrics to the versatile (and somewhat random) selection of instruments they use, to their live performances. It's just such incredibly high quality music, I can't seem to put in words how much I love Rx Bandits. They definitely are headed in a good direction. If your a fan of music......just MUSIC in general, you should check these guys out. I guarantee you won't be let down.
