i think u guys who bad mouth rancid are just doing that so u can make the stuff u like better.i mean come on how can any one say that rancid sucks.ive heard people say they suck when they havent even listened to them and i hate thoughs kind of people.some kids i know in PE always say how much rancid sucks because they know i like them.but the minute they heard them they were like thats purty good.so i think rancid has all talent they dont have a single flaw.

rancid got me into the scene then i went deeper and deeper from rancid to like the exploited rancid has dissapointed me with the last few albums but there trying new stuff im not gonna bad mouth it by far there greatest album was let's go op ivy fucking rocks for being around for only like 2 years when matt was starting to get incredible on bass and there not selling out there just trying new shit expirementing even tho blink 182 fucking sucks travis barker is a fucking incredible drummer and deserves to be given recogniztion for not being in that shitty bitch ass band but for his talent

Rancid is the best band out there.i dont see how any 1 can put them down like that.i think because there newst album is different is because of the dafforce is just went through.but i bet there next album will be fucking bad.And travis is the baddest drummer.I think he should stick with Transplants.He has so much talent.No wonder hes in 3 different bands. :D

Rancid is a really good band, but I wouldn´t say that they make much of a statement... nOel_x3 is right, anti-flag is bolder. Don´t get me wrong, I still like Rancids songs even though there isn´t a big bold statement in most of their songs.

Rancid put on a wonderful live show...this is the truth. i was horribly surprised with their latest album. the first single was so bubble gum...i couldn't stomache it. i don't think you have to make a political statement to be punk...if Tim writes about his drug problems and ex girlfriends that's fine with me. whatever moves you...his heart is speaking for him.

the point is the music in general. idkdotcom23 and i a refering to music and lyrics in general. i'm not saying the lyrics aren't important in Rancid's music. and for your info there's more genre's of music w/o lyrics than classical. you don't have to be "punk" to only rant and rave over poltics...you don't think Tim's lyrics express emotion? did you listen to the songs on Out Come The Wolves? you need to stop thinking so much about the whole "punk" attitude. because your missing the point entirely. it's all about "the music." i was saying Tim is expressing his emotions...his feelings...weather there about Rude Girls...or being strung out...or the government. there's no staple to how punk you have to be...man it's in your blood...not how you wear your clothes...internal...not so much physical.
if you guys are interested on who's down for punk...Anti-Flag vs Rancid...why you being ridiculous. what's the point...again you don't have to be political to be punk. you gonna say The Romones aren't down? you can't tell me who i think is a good band based on what you have said. i think you need to listen more with your heart and your emotions then...a "punk" attitude.

Punk isn't dead...the bands that are out now yes, maybe they look "punk" have their required tats...and a little black eyeliner. These types of bands irratate the hell out of me. What do they know. Their kids, babies...did they listen to Naked Raygun...Social D...no!

Anyone ever notice how people fight over punk bands the way people fight over religion?
The bands get along, and they respect eachother's differences. Punk lives in these bands, like rancid, the casualties, unseen, swingin utters, and the dropkick murphys. Even AFI, for those of you who hate them. These bands appreciate eachother, and have respect.
I think Fans are what fuck everything up. Fans create these stupid rules, and try to determine whats punk, and whats not. Fuck your rules.

I think your right in some ways, but I think music came before fans. So, music would be music without fans. Fans are great, but too many of them go around and preach to others about what is right and what is wrong. Now I respect someones' opinion, only as long as they respect my mine, and don't sit there and preach to me.
I do have issues with religion, because religion destroys and seperates more than anything else.
