I can say different..
>>By Campking (Sunday, 7 Sep 2003 16:48)
I know you're Dutch! I didn't say you were German. I guess it's like when Welsh or Scottish people are called English. I'm really sorry for offending you. It pisses me off when people think I'm Brazilian or for some reason Canadian. My brother lives in the Netherlands and he's a big fan of Rammstein.
>>By Brazilman (Sunday, 7 Sep 2003 19:41)
Why would you say different? I thought you liked Rammstein. Did you think I assumed you were German because I spoke German? That was because Rammstein are German. I think it's an awesome language.

>>By eva__Tier (Friday, 12 Sep 2003 19:36)
Yea really, Rammstein just wouldent be Rammstein if the did their songs in english......the english versions of Engel and Du hast where not good at all (no offence to Till) Stripped was really good though. Did you guys know the drummer on Slipknot
throws his own crap while they perform live? ughh....
>>By Live-Aus-Berlin (Saturday, 13 Sep 2003 07:54)
I can say different because I do like Rammstein, but I don't think they rule... I don't focus so shortly at only one thing...
But I DO like their Music......
I remember the first time hearing Engel...
I think it is now about 3 or 4 years ago, at least it seems so long..
I was listening to Studio Brussels on the radio in my Forklifttruck, and suddenly above the noise of the dieselmotor I heard this rockindustrial german song, it sounded so good, that I had to stop working for till the end of the song, because I had to put all my concentration on trying to understand what the song was about...
From that moment on, I have decided that Rammstin was a good band, and surely able to be short and punctual in their description and stories, and I like that clear stories.....
But still I don't think they rule.... Sorry
>>By Campking (Saturday, 13 Sep 2003 16:07)
Okay. Here goes an American...
first you guys rock not just because you stand up for what you believe, but also because you follow Rammstein. And I'd freak if Rammstein started doing their songs in English (but Stripped was sweet altho I must admit I liked Engel better...) because the German rocks. The language is the absolute for metal--English would screw it up. I don't even know German--at all--but Rammstein is just that hot.
But I'm a little weirded out by this forum, I'm an American but I simply don't feel any of this arrogance crap... America to me is just home.. and what's normal... what's home to you? And I have four German friends and a couple Russian and none of them listen to Rammstein... one of them even equated Rammstein with Eminem, that's like sacreligious... I don't know. I guess I just have to get out of this country to meet the Fanarea core.

I liked du hast until I read the english translation...
And frankly that cd cover is disgusting.

Mein Herz Brennt - Love that song.
>>By Sk8er H8er (Saturday, 20 Sep 2003 12:52)
Just try to tell me it would work in English because it wouldn't. German is one hell of an awesome language for metal.
>>By Sk8er H8er (Saturday, 20 Sep 2003 12:53)
Ich denken Rammstein ist ser gut!
>>By Deutschland058 (Wednesday, 24 Sep 2003 22:19)
Yes, German is a great language to sing this type of music. It just makes it sound so.... right.
I liked the lyrics in Sonne. The translation into English was awesome aswell.
Just thought I'd express my liking of Rammstein. THat's it.

i am soooooo back!!!
it's obvious, that rammstein are the greatest band on the world!
i guess that i haven't wrote anything new....but I cannot help it!!translations of songs are good just for understanding, what lyrics in german are saying.otherwise-translations sucks!!!!

There is more to the world than Rammstein. I respect them because they have many different styles, so their songs are not all similar. Of course it's hard to tell the difference because the lyrics are in German, but that makes them sound cooler. But Rammstein isn't the only good band in the world, and I don't think they're the best.
>>By Sk8er H8er (Thursday, 25 Sep 2003 21:25)
sk8er h8er-you're right, but i still think that rammstein are the best band-cause they are.
of course there is a couple of good bands too, like laibach,or maybe sepultura, but rammstein are still kings of german industrial metal.+ they are soooo sweet!!!!!!
till next time!

spricht jemand hier Deutsch?
>>By Deutschland058 (Saturday, 27 Sep 2003 03:21)
Rammstein are not just metal - they have many other styles in their songs. Because of these different styles it would be possible for them to diverge even more and do some English stuff, but they don't have to. Rammstein could be a much bigger band and they have the potential to do this and still stick to their German roots.
>>By Sk8er H8er (Saturday, 27 Sep 2003 15:01)
Ein bischen, aber meinem schreiben ist nicht so gut... Ich verstehen Deutsch und sprechen es ein bischen, aber es ist schwer.
I understood Rammstein actually started out as a student joke, does anyone know if that's true..?
>>By Campking (Saturday, 27 Sep 2003 18:46)
Ach, lager konige Deutsch ist ser gut!
>>By Deutschland058 (Saturday, 27 Sep 2003 23:28)
I totally agree, German vocals (Even though im Canadian and don't understand A WORD!) sounds great to this type of music. Its just soo perfect!
Also E Nomine's style sounds really sweet with the german "Chanter", and the latin chorals :)
All good stuff!

Ok first off the song "Du Hast" basically has a double meaning behind it.
This is a long comment, and will be a little bit longer. The story kind of goes like this (As I understand it:
He's telling her, after the wedding "You, You hate me." When she proposed, "You had asked me, and I had said nothing." During the wedding of recent, "Do you want, until death do you part, to be true to her, for all days?" and he said "No."
So in theory when Till is just saying "Du hast," it sounds as if he could either be saying "Du hast" (you have) or "Du hasst" (you hate). This is probably to give the song a double meaning, even though the official lyrics say "Du hast."
And you guys cant just say that rammstein is "the best band ever" just because you like 1! song. I admit, Du Hast kicks ass and takes names but there are more songs that Rammstein have released that are awesome. Take for instance, "Zwitter," or "Mutter," or "Adios." So dont be gay and say that a band rules cause you like one of their songs.
>>By Your_Master (Friday, 17 Oct 2003 00:44)
do you mester really think that we know only 1 song?!
don'z be stupid!i have cd mutter, sehnsucht, herzeleid, feuer frei single and ich will single.and i think that nebel is a great song, and bestrafe mich too.and about double meaning of Du Hast-everybody knows that!!!!
so be happy.

people write something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>>By eva__Tier (Friday, 24 Oct 2003 20:02)
I'm sure that by 'RAMMSTEIN RULZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!', you meant 'Rammstein are a completely mediocre and barely interesting group of artists'. Hey, that was some typo.
>>By Jack_is_hot_12 (Saturday, 25 Oct 2003 01:21)
Nah, Rammstein does rule. Your definition of mediocre must be seriously out of date. How can Rammstein not be interesting when they have so many styles of music?
I really love Das Alte Leid.
Actually I was a bit confused about Du Hast at first, but someone else explained that a page or so back. But who gives a damn about the double meaning? I love Rammstein for their sound, not for the meaning. Personally I think he's saying "hasst" because the two words don't sound exactly the same.
>>By L8er Sk8er H8er (Saturday, 25 Oct 2003 16:43)
No kidding, Rammstein is not at all mediocre. You obviously have not listened to more than 2 songs, Du Hast and somthing else, dont judge somthing so complex, so simply.
and eva_Tier has an opinion, you shouldent have a problem with it.
>>By Live-Aus-Berlin (Sunday, 26 Oct 2003 04:02)
See, its people like Jack_is_hot_12 that make me not like people. Its people like him/her that are the reason that george dubya are in office. They listen to one thing and immediatly judge w/o getting the whole picture. Rammstein have made some of the best albums i have heard in a while. The are completly original. "Mediocre" is the last thing they are.
>>By Your_Master (Sunday, 26 Oct 2003 04:19)
I must admit, I'm guilty of that too...
...I heard Rammstein for the first time a year ago and I knew I was listening to intensity incarnate... what's that about the ubermensch? They are the ubermensch of industrial metal.
:0) And I'm "daddy's little girl"--republican hardcore.
