Ram Jam

Forum

A lot off guitarplayer like the simple but very effective riffs used in theire songs.

By critical standards, Ram Jam's music was wrought with what was considered even by 1977 to be moribund, crass hard rock cliches',and now-forget it. But, hey-I've never been one to kowtow to fashion, peer pressure, or manufactured consent of ANY description, and neither, I presume, is anybody who has found this room. When RJ debuted, I was in 6th grade, and was getting malnourished from the steady media-commercial, force-fed diet of Kiss, Frampton (nothin' against em' but, goddam- enough already!) and disco. Ram jam hit my pre-adolescent ass like a very welcome ton of bricks.

Your'e point is well taken, Mr. jc. You are obviously an astute listener with a discerning auditory apparatus and a staunch defender of rugged individualistic cultural vicissitudes. You are apparently a man of learning, and in all liklehood, of lofty personal stature as well. Now, if only you could get that last brick outta' your pre middle-aged ass.

BB wails. Way more melodic than most tunes of its time. And faster than most too. I would encourage you to listen to 404 and Too Bad. RJ is absolutely top ten required listening for students of hard rock history.
