Radioead are great. Their one of my fav. bands. His voice is so cool.... plus today i found a Fake Plastic Trees version done by Duncan Sheik, not as good as the original, but pretty damn close.

I've just bought 7 Television Commercials, and I have to admit I'm dissapointed.
The video to Street Spirit is good, but the other videos, including Just, I found a little lacking in quality.

>>By Undertone   (Tuesday, 3 Feb 2004 14:37)

They are cool. Hail to the Tief is really amazing. I like it.

>>By pinki   (Wednesday, 4 Feb 2004 09:31)

Hey Undertone! Are you kidding me? Lacking in quality? Come on!!!! "Paranoid Android" "Karma Police" "No Surprises" are alone worth the price of admission. And "Just"!? Did you toss that in with the "lacking in quality" description? That's one of the most provocative/funny videos ever! What the hell does the guy say at the end? Don't know, but it's fun to guess. Anyway, sorry to attack you like that, you're probably a very nice person...but what the hell are you talking about!!!???? Ok, bye.

I remember when I was about twelve and heard creep for the first time. Radiohead is one of the best and innovative bands out there. They have the career that everyone else wants. One that is based solely on talent and good music instead of how hot the singer may or may not be.

>>By kelela   (Friday, 6 Feb 2004 21:43)

hey walrus-I think he said something stupid like: bananna milkshake...I'm not sure but that's what someone told me.Their best work has to be The Bends-fake plastic trees, iron lung, street spirit,just-heck,the whole album kicks arse!

>>By endless_nameless   (Saturday, 7 Feb 2004 02:27)

Their concert in Atlanta was insane. I have never been more in awe of a bands stage presence before this concert. Anyone who says that they are less than genious needs to be hammer-punched in the clavicle or atleast recieve a nice blow from the ox-claw to the clavicle!

>>By etsubucs23   (Friday, 13 Feb 2004 05:29)

Ok Computer is the best album. I will not be disputed.
However, I'm sorry I'm not a big fan of Just (the video).
The other videos were unforgivably bad. Paranoid Android is best left unmentioned, and in No Surprises, why would I want to stare at Thom Yorke's face for five minutes?

So, new discussion: What's everyone's favourite B-side?
Personally, I would say Pearly.

>>By Undertone   (Friday, 13 Feb 2004 11:56)

Killer Cars, cause it speaks of what i feel in a passenger seat.

>>By vodka1   (Wednesday, 25 Feb 2004 04:33)

I'm now going to make an arguable statement: Paranoid Android was the best single ever released. Paranoid Android, Polyethylene, and Pearly all for just £3.99. Now that's a deal.

>>By Undertone   (Thursday, 26 Feb 2004 15:47)

i like this band soooooo much!

>>By cherry_lips   (Friday, 26 Mar 2004 18:32)

If anybody on this planet has not heard There There (demo), which was on a B-side, you should seriously lissen to it because it is one hell of a track.

>>By shmoe   (Sunday, 11 Apr 2004 00:40)

and the version from the Musique Planet paris accoustic show, I might be wrong and There There accoustic..............heaven

What can I say about Radiohead that hasn't already been said? The one thing that gets me are the people who absolutely loathe them. Where does this come from? I mean, I can see if you don't like them, they're definitely an acquired taste. But hating them so much that you see red....what's the deal? I heard that Kid Rock recently said "F**k Clay Aiken and Radiohead!" at one of his concerts. Then again, this is Kid Rock we're talking about....one of the suckiest "musicians" to ever pick up a guitar.

>>By The Walrus   (Wednesday, 14 Apr 2004 17:14)

Wow, I'm the last person to have written anything, and that was a week ago. Dah, well.

>>By The Walrus   (Friday, 23 Apr 2004 16:45)

can someone send me the piano sheet music to "paranoid Android" plz?

E-mail me at villa_bella20@hotmail.com

thanks

I love the RadioHead songs!!! The one song that is pretty sad is "Video Killed the Radio Star" it is sad, but it is true. The other songs I havn't heard much of but I do love thier songs. They are a great and unique group!

>>By Lily_gurl   (Wednesday, 5 May 2004 19:32)

I hate it when people compare Radiohead to Coldplay - I do like Coldplay in moderation, but you jus' can't say: "Radiohead sound like Coldplay" in a kinda wingey tone!!!Radiohead came BEFORE Coldplay, so it's obviously Coldplay who sound like Radiohead!!!
Duh!!!

K, now that's off my chest!!!

It was Radiohead who officially got me into bands like MUSE. Radiohead have waay more influence on other bands than you'd care to admit!!!

Radiohead are also one of the bands who made me stop sitting on my arse all day, use the musicianship running through my veins, pick up a guitar, and sing and play my fav rock songs.

I love listening to Radiohead, ok, I agree with the fact that it may sound depressing some of the time, but when you really get into it, and hear the artistic quality of it, you appreciate 'em so much more for what they do, and how great they are.

Take, for example, Paranoid Android - it's like three songs rolled into one!!!

They also stretch their creative wings by trying out new stuff, instead of re-itterating the same songs. They can be kinda heavy, eg, Creep - or they can be softer and more emotional, like Black Star. The Bends and OK Computer are such different albums!!

Their accoustic versions of their songs do them credit too!!!I love the accoustic for High And Dry and Creep!!!

Thom Yorke also seems like a pretty down to earth guy, instead of these stuck up celebs who think their followers should worship the ground they tread on, and all that crap - In his local town, he campaigned against the council building over some park/woodland kinda area. What kinda examples are other celebs setting us??Take for example, the Gallagher bros - I do love Oasis, but I hated their whole "let's beat up Robbie Williams" sh!t - he sucks!!Get over it!!Stop wasting your time threatening crap musicians, and get on with writing decent music!!!

One thing I'll do before I die - go to a Radiohead concert

P.S. Have a look on the insert in the OK Computer album - The words aren't just all randomly arranged!!!On Climing Up The Walls, if you turn the page vertically and hold it back a bit, you can see a figure, which looks like it's climbing up a wall!!!Go to www.eeggs.com to find some more!!!

Radiohead is a very innovative band. OK computer is definitely their best work and i hope to dive into their other albums a little more. As per their videos, I don't think that their videos were necessary, but good for them for making them come alive.

If you guys like Radiohead and you don't mind listening to music in other languages, you should check out a Japanese artist called Shiina Ringo. One of her biggest influences is Radiohead and she is the most all-encompassing musicians. Her music touches on punk, drum n bass, big band, Broadway themes, rock and her production quality is good too (most of the time). if anything, you should look for her cover of "Creep" which I thought was pretty cool.

>>By Jia   (Sunday, 16 May 2004 18:02)

and while your at it check out sigur ros, who were the opening act for the last radiohead trour.. great band from Iceland that sing in a self made language, and sound like they are somewhere deep underground making music, while we only hear the snippets of their music up here.... they are a thing on their own...

>>By Campking   (Sunday, 16 May 2004 19:39)

Radiohead is an awesome Experimental Rock Band. Their instrumentation is increadibly Hallucigenic and Thom Yorke's Lyrics is just increadible. Although, I think Kid A is still their best work but the other albums are not that far behind...well...except for Pablo Honey.

>>By Karma Policeman   (Friday, 28 May 2004 05:27)

I agree completely. Kid A is brilliant, but Pablo Honey was just... bad.

>>By Undertone   (Friday, 28 May 2004 13:06)

what can i say? radiohead, is radiohead. you can listen to one of their songs one day and become so depressed youll just want to cry, fall to the floor and die, while if you listen to that same song a day later and be filled with joy and inspiration.
Radiohead is one of the most influential bands that will ever walk the earth.

anyways, why has't anyone mentioned Amesiac yet? im disapointed...why is there sOoOoo MUCH attention on their early work, look into their recent stuff, PURE genious. there will never be another RADIOHEAD, ever, so please, everyone, watch them in concert before you die......i have, i was astounded and pleased when i saw them. now i can die peacefully....honestly.....one of the after affects of Radiohead- peacefulness, and tranquility......when you finished listening their newest album, there is a mood, a silence that creeps into your bones and stays there for the next few moments. another afteraffect of when you listen to radioheads new stuff for the first time, is that you leave your body for a moment and look at the world in a different way.Sometimes im disgusted by this world other times i think its beautiful. oh yes, and everyone should listen to the song myxamotis, how does it sound? u might ask, i cant explain it, but i can tell you how you might feel when listening to it. A little like this:
Myxamotosis": AAARRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCKING HELL!!!!!!! HOW DOES A BASS SOUND THAT DISTORTED!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE AND IT’S GONNA SOUND LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!! MYXAMOATOSIS WAS WHAT THE ENGLISH USED TO CURB THE RABBIT POPULATION?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS ISN”T THE SOUND OF LITTLE BUNNIES IT”S THE SOUND OF CAR WRECKS AND H-BOMBS!!!!!! Breathe, relax, Valium.

Kid A and Amnesia have a great atmosphere, but with Hail to the Thief they missed out the things that made the earlier albums great.

>>By Drukq User   (Sunday, 18 Jul 2004 16:52)

i think _hail to the thief_ has some good tracks, but i agree that it is neither as strong as new radiohead or as enduring as old radiohead...it's still better than most crap out there by other bands, though.
really.

>>By librarysquirrel   (Monday, 19 Jul 2004 08:06)

It's almost all wonderful.

>>By Flake 1.6   (Monday, 19 Jul 2004 08:51)

So what if I'm from Germany? And what has playing the keyboard got to do with it? I can still appreciate Radiohead...

>>By Flake 1.6   (Monday, 19 Jul 2004 17:55)

Jeese Louise, anyone from anywhere can appreciate any and all types of music!!!

>>By kathy_moose   (Tuesday, 3 Aug 2004 16:27)

I like talking about Radiohead. It makes me happy. I like the way that they are depressed because in that depressed state the see happiness. I love the way they can make a few simple chords into a song that is good. Not yeah that was good, I'll not listen to that again but that was good and you feel satisfied. But in the same way you never feel satisfied with them because...
Electioneering is one of my favourite songs. I love the starting bit but has anyone ever tried playing it? It's damn near impossible and will Thom show me how it's done? Will he get Jonny? Will he get Ed? No. I'm going to beat him up for that so I'm sorry for anyone who has Radiohead tickets and will be seeing him in concert because he may be ever so slightly sore after I've finished with him....
Well that was quite random. I am random. My whole novel is one big randomisation with a twist at the end.
How do you do the effects on Go to Sleep at the end? I really want to play it but for now I just play the chords.... And My Iron Lung... how the HELL do you change the pitch-shifter on the Zoom 606 pedal???
