Do they not know what they are missing? R.E.M are just one of the best. The music is haunting and can make the hairs on the back of my neck stand. Automatic for the People is in my top ten, but it was slightly bordering on the "commercial side" , something I'm not that comfortable with. I loved the REM Unplugged on MTV. >>By hiflydi Anyone who doesn't think that R.E.M. is a good rock band would probably be surprised to know that most any great musician you can name would say that R.E.M. is one of their inspirations. I have every released cd and its hard to pick the best. If I had to it probably is MONSTER. That album just ROCKS!...sometimes when the kids are at school and my lovely wife not home, I crank up the amp and let it rip...that heavy reverb still blows me away. I saw them at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne in 1995, they were great.
