PI on the web to get you in the mood for upcoming tour:
if you want to get mp3s of them off the web go to www.emusic.com and put 'poison idea' in the seach box.....there's a shitload available and you can get like 50 free downloads if you do a trial and then cancel.....or you can just listen to sample clips at the time for free.
if you want to see free streaming video of the live version of 'Punish Me' you can go to www.launch.com and put 'poison idea' in the search box and click 'watch it' Punish Me under the 'video' title (Yahoo may or may not make you sign up for a stupid Yahoo ID--it's free...it's just a pain in the ass if you don't have a Yahoo ID and don't want one).
if you want me to try and email you the .avi file of the European version of the Punish Me video that has the Russ Meyer clip send me an email at (It used to be downloadable off the web but that page has gone) searchindex@(no_spam)philipkdick.com (just take the no spam and parentheses out)
if you want to see footage from the CBGBs gig last summer you can see a clip with four songs from that gig on the CBGBs archive site....Pay pal is needed to access one week rental from the complete CBGB archive (so you get as much access to all footage avail that you want for a week for $3.95) http://cbgb.com/club_cybercast%20old.htm (if that link doesn't work just go to the CBGBs site and look in the archives http://www.cbgb.com/livestreams.htm )
Saw Poison Idea last night in Nottingham....after waiting 11 years to see them the night ended early due to a fucking wanker in the crowd.....anyway read on......
We got there and hear em soundchecking, they did Punish Me & Hangover Heartattack and musically they were tremendous.....at the gig it was clear to see Jerry was pretty wasted but this is Poison Idea...I didn't expect sobriety! They did a few older songs like Lifestyles, Made To Be Broken & The Temple, then some mid - later stuff like In Order To Live & Crippled Angel.
The band were great, no Pig but I didn't expect that to be honest. After about 40 minutes some twat in the crowd threw a glass onstage which smashed.....from what I could see (this may be slightly wrong though) the bass player picked it up to throw back at him and the guitarist grabbed his arm to stop him, his arm got cut up though as he did it. The band stopped playing and the place was cleared.
I spoke to Jerry afterwards and he didn't catch what had happened so I just hope the guy is okay.
I got my ticket for London so I hope to see em back there in July.
My pics from last night are here.....

Ringside I'm SOOOOOOO happy that you got see them and got that great pic with you and Jerry! (I know you've been pining for them since last year's east coast trip....I hooked you up with the euro version of Punish Me back then.) I didn't realise they didn't have Matt on bass either.....Guess he got tied up with Defiance cos they are over there at the moment too.....
Thanks so much for the pics and keeping us posted on the gig!

Hey y'all, just dropped in to say hello and to mention what a great show they did in Austin Texas New Years eve 2001 or was it 2002....ANYHOOOOO IT WAS AWESOME!
Pig and Dave (From MDC) were pretty good friends of mine in the mid 90's in PDX....but I will have to admit that those were the "salad years" my friends and I would never ever want to repeat them for my mind and body could not withstand the terrential abuse inflicted so freely up in Pig's stye of a room at club Suburbia.
Anyone seen Rochelle lately?

Does anyone have a tape of the FULL KBOO 1991 radio session? a couple of tracks have been released on different records but someone somewhere must have it on tape! I have the early 80s one but I've been searching for the 90s session for 10 years.
I emailed the station to ask the possibility of getting a tape of it if it were in the archives but they can't do it.
Cheers!

KBOO's page is still updating their streaming archives, so maybe they will eventually put it up there....You should email them back and specifically ask for them to put it up. With other archives they've put segments of shows up as teasers for fund raising premiums, so maybe you could ask them to put a segment of the show up, and make the rest of the show available as a premium. http://www.kboo.fm/archives.php

I went to see PI in Sheffield on Friday and London on Saturday. Both dates were great, the band were tight and Jerry was singing fine. This time he wasn't so drunk that he spent most of the time on the floor
PIctures can be found at:
http://www.ringsideviolence.pwp. blueyonder.co.uk/photopage.htm
On Friday Jerry was saying that's all, the end of PI. It's been great but there'll be no more. I asked the guitarist and he said they are gonna have the new album out on golf records then come back over to UK (& Europe?) in April so who knows.
By the way Terrorizer magazine interviewed Jerry so look out for that.

Anyone know where I can get the P.Idea - Punish Me T-shirt (white)from? Had one years ago and foolishly gave it to an ex!!!!
Thanks
