Pedro The Lion

Forum

I heart Pedro the Lion. Fricken great band.. man.. if you haven't heard them, I highly suggest you check them out ASAP. They just have that moody sound that just lulls you into one of those undescribable weird moods. The songs "Big Trucks" and "Promise" are a mere two of their unremarkable collection of classics. ie: They're an enjoyable band. I'd more than likely sell my soul to Pedro the Lion (Or would I..?)

is "Rapture" NOT the most amazing song? i've been seeing pedro the lion shows for years at local, seattle venues, and that song has been one of the most innovative, striking songs thats come out of those venues in a long time. congrats to Pedro!

Man, I just saw them for like the second time, and they are AMAZING!!!! They are so good. Dave is a great guy. He has a hard time speaking to a group it seams, but when he sings, its all power and greatness that comes out. They're great. Fave song is beauty queen...

Put on whatever makes you attractive
if it's not you, then do it for the sake of fashion.
Your friends like a certain you,
thats who you've got to be.

Okay, so I just downloaded a Pedro The Lion song, except I believe the song title has been mislabled. It says "Punk Emo" so I don't believe that's correct. The song starts off with "What makes you think it won't grow back in a day or two, husbands in winter they know the truth, but what can they do? I don't like girls they way they are so shave their legs and make them look like movie stars...put on whatever makes you attractive..." Does anyone know the correct name for this song? I'd really like to read all the lyrics for it. Thanks.

the Title of the song is:
Pedro The Lion When They Really Get To Know You They Will Run

The lyrics are:

What makes you think that it won't grow back in a day or two husbands in winter they know the truth but what can they do

I don't like girls the way they are so shave their legs and make them look like movie star then we can pretend it's natural

Put on whatever makes you attractive if it's not you then do it for the sake of fashion your friends like a certain you thats who you've got to be

Junior high lesg blonde hair gone brown from removing that waxing since thirteen wisdom from a beauty queen her tiara diging deep in her head

I'm starting to think that i'm kind of shy or at least i'd like to be winter legs give me heart attacks so take it off with lasers so it never comes back then we can pretend it's natural

and the song is of the last album... Control, if I am not wrong....

"I treated you like a princess, You treated me like a cop" is one of my favorite Pedro lines, What is Pedro the Lion??? Does anyone know?

Be careful with posting Pedro the Lion quotes, they might get you banned. Just had a post off mine taken off wirth a quote of Pedro the Lion, because whah I said could be considered offensive... ?

Anyway, at this very moment I think that my favorite Pedro the Lion album is "Whole", or Control. Actually they have both some great songs on them. I especially like the song "Penetration", for the dark view on city in it. Too bad some people really think that way.....

Can anyone explain to me what Pedro is about? I know you're not supposed to really UNDERSTAND where the artist is coming from in a song, because it's their own intellectual property and all that, but I'm not getting the heroine/Christianity contradiction.

The singer is christian, but takes a social topic to make a record on every new record. So the songs aren't actually about him, but about things he sees. So every album is a story. At least that is what I understood. It is very clear with the last album, Control, where all the songs are about a guy working for a big co-op, but slowly is "losing" grap on it, and then wants to get out...

Anyway that's what I understood....

>>By Campking   (Monday, 29 Mar 2004 22:16)

That makes sense. Thanks. I mean, there's so much to the music, and he covers so many different topics. On one hand, he's brutally honest about what it's like to be a Christian, but then he also covers the things going on around him in other people's lives (like you said), and also all the corporate greed, scheming, etc. It's really amazing.

If any of you reading this consider yourself a Christian, but you're sick of feeling like you're supposed to just go with the Christian flow all the time and not really ever evaluate anything, I recommend Pedro strongly. In a strange way, it gives me such encouragement to hear someone else admit that it is not easy and the doubt it always there.

the Christian flow? What Christian flow? I don't know any flowing Christians... is this aspect of Christianity exclusive to Europe?
