Paul McCartney did well both solo and with the Beatles. Therefore, I did a little link for him:

I love Paul McCartney. He is a very talented songwriter and singer. I truly loved Paul when he was part of the Beatles, but he still rocks now that he has gone solo. Paul McCartney is truly amazing, and I would really like to meet him someday. He has added so much to my life, and I would just like to shake his hand and tell him thank you!

Like it or not, Paul was the driving force & major talent in the Beatles. That is not to discredit John Lennon! They were a formidable partnership & jointly wrote some of the best songs of the C20 - they will never be equalled.

It was deeply unfortunate that John's manic depression effectively made him unable to function for long periods. It was John who left the Beatles but Alan Klein (their Manager at the time) forbade him to announce the fact. Six months later, frustrated at not being able to perform Paul admitted to a journalist that the Beatles had split up & the worlds press (particularly the music press) blamed him.

The music press (who never bothered to learn the facts) never forgave him. Everything he did subsequently they slated out of hand, and still do to this day.

It is ironic then, that much of his best work was done after The Beatles!

Check it out!
