| Discussion: Paul Desmond Although I love the sounds of Parker, Getz and Mulligan. Paul Desmond is my favorite on the saxaphone. His sound is very interesting because sometimes less is best. I have the impression that he found the notes others still looking for. The semitono stile is quite out of fashion, but still very impressive. The intersting is the contrast between Desmond`s life style (his loneliness qand quietudness) and his lyrical sound. Although I went on thru Folk, Pop, Blues, Rock, Underground, Progressive, Punk, New Wave, World, & Country, I still love the free sounds that those guys made.
