It is known yet if p.j has gone in the studio to start her follow up to stories and where or what city she chose to record it. will she be going back to Russia after b.d.o. inn austraula or is she going to continue touring with more dates in 2003.

I absolutely love her, because she sings about real issues that are happening to her and I dont know many artists who are that gifted or clever enough to do that in a interesting way. When I listen to her I find that I can instantely plug into what she is singing about and I am filled with the emotion she is singing about. To boot she cooky with a great sense of style that I love to watch.

All-time, numero uno, favourite rock heroine. If you don't feel empowered by Sheela-na-gig or 50 ft queenie, then...well, you must have a penis.

Anybody heard "naked cousin"?I think it's a b-side.Any ideas which single is it off?And where the fuck is the new record?I'm going into cold turkey.
>>By thom
I prefer her older stuff, but cannot help you with the single... Hope the new alum will be more rough like the first albums were..
>>By Campking
Yeah, the first two LPs were divine! She says the new one goes back to that sound.

I just bought Uh Huh Her and, I have this is the first album I've heard. I dont' know what to think yet. I'd like some older stuff. I've only listened to it a couple times, and the sound has not drawn me in too much yet. We shall see. It was the only one I could find so I got it.
Anyone have recomendations for the best album?
>>By CÆT
I'd recommend "Is this desire" and "stories from..." Actually I love all of them.
About the new album, I think It's kinda hard to get used to ... When I first listened to it, I was like "what the hell..." because I expected it to be a pure PJ type....Now I see that I can't judge her just because she didn't repeat herself... Still, all of the other albums have more than one amazing song which deserve to be remembered after years and years....but this one hardly has any of those tracks...xxx Ayþe Özgümüþ

i saw PJ harvey live last night, i was just goin coz i got a free ticket but she absolutely blew me away! im converted. she played for about 2 and a half hours and every single song was original and unique at the same time. You've gotta love her, she's such a presence on stage and that voice! she rocks.

When Polly Jean comes to Portugal I normally go see her... I saw her last June in the Vilar de Mouros Festival (Portugal) and her performance was much more physical because she didn´t have to play guitar in all their songs (she had a guitar player in the band). It was one of her best gigs in portuguese land. She´s really a crooner women... Take care.

She's amazing. I've only heard Stories..., To Bring You My Love and Uh Huh Her, but I plan to buy an older album as soon as I have any cash.
I saw her live about a month ago.... She had a band with a guitarist (he was great too) and I agree, it was good how much she moved around.
My favourite song is probably To Bring You My Love. The lyrics are just inspirational.
It's good to know there are people with such good taste on the internet. :)

Funny thing about Stories.... is that the best track is the song sung by Thom Yorke.
>>By spikee
I thought that for a while. Now I'm not so sure....
'This is Love' is excellent. But I might not like it entirely because of the music; the lyrics are... well I'll stop now. ; )

Good Fortune is nice.
>>By spikee
Yeah. And Place Called Home. And This Wicked Tongue. They're the most memorable ones for me.

my favourite is One Line!
>>By Eli_Molko
One Line's good too. They're all good, duh. I heard Rid of Me and some Uh Huh Her b-sides this week. I think the four-track demo of Who the F**k is better than the version on the album.

Jesus! I'm just listening to Dry for the first time. It's amazing! Better than any of her others I think. Well, at least as good. Damn it's brilliant!
>>By Flagg
Someone talk about Dry please?
Sheila-na-gig! Shelia na-gig! You exhibitionist!
>>By Flagg
she WAS amazing, sadly, i dunno, she sounds just like elysian fields, or they sound like her, either way
>>By semiaimes
Never heard of Elysian Fields I'm afraid. But PJ hasn't gone downhill if that's what you're saying. Uh Huh Her is brilliant. As good as Dry, I've now decided.

Polly Jean came all that way to bring me her love and I went and lost it.
Someone say something. My little brother saw her live at a one-off semi-acoustic gig. I burned with raging jealousy for a few days and then repressed the memory.
>>By Flagg
I've heard one song.
>>By Tchock
I like thePJH stuff I've heard (songs from... and .... to bring... albums) I always hear a very melancholy bluesy quality about her somehow. Does anyone know if she's ever done anything with anyone more usually thought of as a "blues" artist?
>>By planet ear
I don't really know who's thought of as a blues artist. She has worked with Nick Cave and John Parish. And I, like a true fan, haven't yet heard either : /
Captain Beefheart was a big influence apparently. She's one of the six people he speaks to.
