I used to have one of their albums back in about 1975-I didn't know they were still around. That album was very rhythmic jazz with a heavy bass beat-good stuff at the time. I would be interested in hearing about some of their new music.

Well, it was Afro music, apparently influenced by "Highlife" & Caribbean forms as AMG points out. The instrumentation was Western (Guitars, drums, horns) & they dressed in highly colourful African style. The music had a joyous, upbeat tone on the whole.

I still own a vinyl copy of "Osibisa". I purchased it in the last half of the '70's.

I'm impressed to hear that they were known in the US. I wonder if any of them are still very active in music?
