I couldn't agree more! Can anyone tell me anything about New Order prior to their Joy Division days? I'd like to get hold of some of their earlier music if possible. Recommendations much appreciated.

I don't know what to say ...

New Order is always criticized because of their styleshift. They are said to be much more worse than Joy Division and it hurts me so. Because they are a big part of my life.

Free your body and soul
Unfold your powerful wings
Climb up the highest mountains
Kick your feet up in the air

You may now live forever
Or return to this earth
Unless you feel good where you are

missed by your friends

Check out the Finsbury Park DVD... but listen to it in PCM not DTS. It is quite good and a nice flashback.
And how can Nick be a ----? He just needs to be more eclectic. Electric. Or just plain less apathetic.

Love will tear us apart again.

New Order is the best group period! Their music reaches out and brushes against the very fibers of life.

I am very surprised by this, no comments on this great band since 2003.

I have 'Get Ready', but I've been wanting to buy a good compilation of their early work, the songs that were written by Bernard Sumner before the lost of the late Ian Curtis.

I still can't believe it, Good Charlottle has 40 pages and New Order has less than one...a shame it is.

"Get Ready" really isn't a great record. Their early stuff are way better. Forget the compilation. Go for the actual records

Well, I was lucky enough to find 'Substance'. As I have said before, these american record stores don't have a lot of variety, or at least not as I would want them to have.

I still can't get enough of the instrumental version of 'Thieves Like Us'...

could i have been one of the chosen who witnessed the pure magic here in chicago last night...i'm not ashamed to say Bernard brought me to tears singing my song, Temptation

"...Each way I turn, I know I’ll always try
To break this circle that’s been placed around me
From time to time, I find I’ve lost some need
That was urgent to myself, I do believe

Up, down, turn around
Please don’t let me hit the ground
Tonight I think I’ll walk alone
I’ll find my soul as I go home..."
