when i first heard of this amazing cd i was stoned out of my mind. i had to buy this cd the first thing the next day, after i got my thoughts together and took a shower. It was even better when i heard sober. The lyrics are dream like and nastalgic. Jeff mangum is a brilliant man. other cd's that i recomend to are:
Jeff mangum live at jittery Joes
Modest mouse
flaming lips
magnetic fields
beck
built to spill

ugly casanova

Yep, Neutral Milk Hotel is awesome.

My fave from them is propably The King of Carrot Flowers (parts 1-3) or In the Airplane Over the Sea, which is really a great song as well.

In the aeroplane over the sea. is such a fantastic album. the lyrics and horns and trumpets...oh my!

On Avery Island would be equally as good were it not for some stupid parts that are nothing more than fuzzy noise, and badly interrupt the flow of the album.

Damn I dreamed about them last night! That they had a heartbreaking 30-song album called Furious City.
Which was, by the way, about Avery Island quality. It's just not as epically cohesive and purely musical as Aeroplane. Though it's still amazing.
