Nas is a deep rapper, and his albums are all hot! No contest! but can any one answer this question?

cos i'd like to no

This song is a horrendous effort to make it into the mainstream. Record sales have gone by the waste side, and this is little more than an attempt to extend his market base. However, who can blame him...get what’s coming to you, money. The fake ass history lesson on the other hand...terrible. Nobody can refute the vast significance of the African culture, but Mali and Egypt were, for historical context, ruled by Arabs at the time when Timbuktu and Kush were significant educational centers, so I guess when Nas says 'Be, be, 'fore we came to this country' he speaks of Arab Americans, right? Anyways, this pails in comparison to his next mistake...'shocked at the mountains with black faces, Shot up they nose to impose what basically, Still goes on today, you see?'...NO know body sees, Alexander the Great lived between 356 BCE and 323 BCE, he couldn't have shot off the noses of the 'mountains' b/c gun powder wasn't invented until 1200 CE...check if you like http://footguards.tripod.com/06ARTICLES/ART28_blackpowder.htm...So this is a poor effort to say the least and African Americans should be empowered by the likes of Martin Luther King, Ella Fitzgerald, Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou...but certainly not Nas, an embarrassment.

Caesar, you need to read what Born Righteous Allah posted about the nose thing a few entries back.

"Catapulted"... he's right!

And as far as a "fake as history lesson"... Everybody knows West Africa was invaded by Arabs as well as other so called cultures during those times... Timbuktu and Kush were already there.

SO WHAT ARE YOU SAYING??

>>By SUCKER KILLER

Nas is one of the best mcs of of our time. That cat can flow like a mad man. As for Caesar talking about Nas fake as history lesson. That song has about 20 times more truth to it than anything in mainstream hip-hop right now. I am sure you would have rather Nas talk about the ice on his wrist, his 20 inch wheels, his gat, and the size of the clip. Not many people out there know the meaning of real hip hop anymore. It kind of makes me sick. To anyone who agrees, keep that shit real. Peace

hey people,

instead of fighitng about whos the best,
its time to work together,

jfk was shot by the CIA and a cover story was made and everyone beleived it , i beleive the american government systematically spreads dissent amongst all rap/hiphop (its not hard they just tell one rapper that another rapper said shit when he didnt and break the hiphop/rap community apart that way) If you think about the reasons for this (why they would want to do it)

a) they dont want black people to have role models to keep them down
b) if there is turmoil within the rap community it gives them an excuse to label it violent and obscene.
c) rap is openly critical of the american government and its dirty politiks. Tupac was very political & getting more powerful by 1996 hence why i think the whole east/west coast beef was encouraged. I beleive it was encouraged by federal agents & police who were watching death row and bad boy at the time. The cover story i beleive was established by feeding misinformation to both sides west and east by FBI agents therefore turning each against eachother. I beleive the corrupt cops working with suge knight helped him to stage tupacs murder. Suge i beleive did it out of greed, he is immoral and shows no respect for anyone or anything but money. (tupac didnt know him as long as everyone says it was a matter of less than a year) Of course what happened is everyone assumed due to the death row bad boy beef that notorius big had ordered tupacs shooting. Suge did the deed, but the government helped.

anyway wat i am trying to say is we have bigger problems than hiphop fueds.

i actually think that
TUPAC - most real mofo on this earth and amazing rapper & intellect
BIGGIE - dope rapper but poor content and realness
NAS - amazing rapper not as real as pac, but pac altho dissed nas would want rappers like NAS around. But nas is right along side pac in terms of skill and his content is excellent.

KRS-ONE - i think we are forgetting him, altho hes gone all crap now, 1995 hes selftitled was pretty fucking intelligent & is how hiphop should be.

who fuckin cares who is better they are all dope rappers (yes i know i've missed oh so many) we need as many rappers as possible and as little beef as possible. Real enemies is NELLY, JA HOMOSEXUAL RULE and fucks like justin timberfake who pretend to be rappers

>>By for real......

I can't beleive what everybody is saying at this website. The only person making sense is Born Righteous Allah. Please try to come up with material better than Nas.' You can not deny this true hip hop. Nas wasn't even as good on God's Son as Stillmatic but still doubled Jay-Z's effort. I don't uinderstand you cats. Nasty is so nice. What the fuck is the madness about. He's kickin straight ill knowledge at the final verse of "I Can."

If you really wanna complain about some bullshit hip hop, leave Nas alone. "I Can" isn't even one of his better songs. Don't comment on Nas being a bad rapper when we have Benzino type faggots running around the studio with a precious mic.

Nas has a golden throat and soul. ILLEST AND REALEST ALIVE.

all you people neede to stop hatin everybody cuz all the rappers in this industry are good it shouldnt be about hatin why dont we listen to pac and start to make some changes to make better dayz. we dont need more great rappers gettin shot like biggie RIP . 2pac is still alive so theres gonna be some better days cause 50 runnin is mouth and wont be rulin west at all 2pacs gonna ride on em

naz is sick wit it no one can top him or his rymes hes a legend in the rap game

>>By Big one

aright
im not black.. but i have respect for nas and all the rappers who try to make a name for their people. Nas got some skill, and hes been in the game for a long time. i cant compare em all cause they've all come up with some pretty real shit. 50 cent and eminem are unbelievably talented, and biggie and 2 pac are legends. whut about run dmc.. and beastie boys. they changed rap forever.
i think "for real" had a crazy theory about the government and the whole east west side battle. these modern rapperes need a reality check before one of them gets shot.
i respect nas for his lyrics and his struggles. i like that he talks about his people and politics and shit like that, and how he doesn't offend women or gays or whutever. but thats just him. he has his own style. all rappers have their own styles and thats whut make rap so great. they can rap about anything and evrything in their own way, and i think we should just let them do their thing. stop criticizing. damn.

>>By sayputo

Nas is one of the best rappers ever, but no one is the best. Unlike 50 and Jay, he is an official writer who doesnt constantly drone on about being a "P-I-M-P" or having a different bentley for each day of the week, let alone doing a driveby with his girl (50). On another note, there is too much beef between rappers in hiphop, every rapper hates another one--this must stop before rap literally blows itself up

>>By GrandServOn

i just wana say that illmatic is the SHIT!! On this album Nas has a original style, never mind what he raps about, the technicality of his rhymes is brilliant.
also i wana say illmatic is the ONLY decent album of his. he became commercial for all the obvious reasons.
what are ppl's opinions about illmatic. i think lifes a bitch is it's best track

>>By nsane

Nas is one of the coolest rapper i know! His style is original and he is still true to hiphop. I admire that thing about him!

>>By Plaztik

I like Nas a lot. But I would like somebody to tell me how Nas uses science in his raps. I don't know what some of yall mean by that. Thanks.

>>By J-Trigga

if ya wanna know how he dose it ask him. its how he thinks makes his lifestyle and tunes unique he aint infected by tha attak of tha clones. hes basically the don of hip hop today because of his wisdom and experence. he is one of many few real mcs left

...ps FUK CHINGY IS A FAGGIT

>>By eMCe. CeZar

yo

I cant believe ppl r comparing nas to jigga and 50. ok, 50 cent used to be amazing back in the day, but then once he started going mainstream like so many other rappers have done, his shit became garbage, the new g-unit albums sucks so much its indiscribable. 50 cent is the type of rapper that rich ppl who go to private schools listen to because they think listening to rap is cool.

I havent heard all of jay-z's older songs so im only gonna bitch about the new ones. First question neone witha little sense in their head will ask themselves when they hear jay-z is: What The Fuck?!?! Especially gay songs include: Jigga my Nigga, H to the Izzo and Hard nock life. then comes the fact that his raps are to fill an album as fast as possible so it can be sold. I dont remember hearing many jay songs that tell a story, exhibits real emotion or is about something people actually want to hear. Thank you

Nas although he has some bad songs ( oochie wally, shoot em up.... ) is some of the sickest shit u will heard. His songs tell stories that you can actually follow (Poppa was a playa, The message, Rewind, Poison etc...) and although he is a millionaire still brings out some good songs ( Mastermind, The cross, book of ryhmes) although i must admit God son is not quite as good as illmatic and stillmatic.
There is alot more to be said but i will end it here

I would enjoy hearing somecritisim by some Gay-z fans ( or 50 cent fans )

peace

>>By nas wannabe

nas is proper shite so is Jay z.You would have to be a moron to say he was any thing other than average.Oh and "niggas against society"what?

>>By supfur charminman

Now I hope that no Nas fans take this the wrong way bc I am one myself its just that you read all these editorials and there is a lot of cussin goin on to Jay Z now Im not gonna lie Nas lit on Jay with Ether and Jay never really hit back with anything to mention but ya gotta respect Jay's abilities hes still one of the top rappers of all time. I have a wide variety of taste when it comes to rap so I appreciate both Nas and Jay Z, but I personally give the crown of greatest rapper all around to Pac why for not only his emotion when it came to his music but also his dedication, lyrical ability (he may not be the best but top ten for shor), his realness, the message that he tried to send with his music as well as his flow(again not the best but up there). In my opinion thats what makes him better than all the other rappers out. Now Jay Z may not have the kinda emotion in his rap of say Nas or Pac but you can't say anything against his flow or lyrical ability unless your maybe biast towards Nas. Nas is an extremely talented rapper in fact one of the best but I wouldn't put him above Pac or even Jigga for the time being. You can't dispute the fact that Jigga has put out top sellin albums for years and with the Black Album is still goin strong (never mind the fact that he is by far the smartest business wise rapper the industry has ever seen). I believe that if Nas's new album is top quality you can put his name right up there with the elite ranks hell you can already but not at the very top. I've wrote way too much at this point so Ima stop now peace.

>>By C-mac

Jay maybe good, but its clear that Nas is the greatest rapper alive. This double album is already being talked about as a banger, and could be another 5 Mic album. I think its gonna be a classic, and much better than BluePrint 2, the most dissapointing double LP from a mainstream rapper.

>>By XXXPharoahe

I guess nobody here has ever heard of Petey Pablo. Now that's a straight up lyrical rapper right there. But of course it is just like people to pay more attention to the cats with longevity as opposed to the cats with dope singles. Get your shit correct!

>>By Hume Ungus

I hate when people always say that 2pac was real. He was never really a gangsta or anything, he rapped about that shit but he wasn't. It was more of an image, just like Biggie. Even by 2pac's own admission the lyrics he wrote were from anecdotes he heard while living in LA. They may have dabbled in some small time shit but none were really as hard as they say, it was an image because of how popular the gangsta rappers like NWA were. At least Nas does not try and hype himself up as a gangsta like 2pac and Biggie.
Secondly, 2pac was a hypocrite, what he rapped about was not how he lives even when he talked about how things need to change he never led by example. The media put this image on him and he ran with it.
Don't get me wrong, 2pac is one of the best rappers of all-time, but he's not as great as some people would like to believe. However, still in the top three, maybe five.

>>By sdosangh

Yea man throwin them bones. Yall gotta admit hes better than jay-z cuss he raps about the truth, you know like whats goin down in the hood. By the way 2pacs good but he contradicted himself in his songs. Bad ass lyricist but seems like that wasnt how he really was. 2pac's #4. Southside Joliet,IL thats whats up!

>>By elpedopenetra

2pac is the greatest rapper of all time just to clarify things
