| Discussion: Los Machucambos The old tunes of the Machucambos are fantastic, folkloric. It's a shame that they are so popular all around the world and almost no one here in the USA ever heard of them. The album was "Percussive Latin Trio". It is an excellent album, and I still listen to it today. Also, the album's female vocalist was Julia Cortes. The fact is I would like to find other albums similar to this one, and even better if Julia Cortes was the vocalist. It was my fathers. I was around fifteen when I first heard it. I was madly in love with Julia Cortes even though I had no idea what she looked like. It was just her voice, especially on Pepito. I am now 46 and still am in love! It would be great if that album was on cd. They will perform a concert in San Jose, Costa Rica on May 14, 2004. They may also perform in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico sometime during 2004. They live in Paris. I correspond via e-mail with Rafael Gayoso (one of the two men in the group).
