I have heard one song from the new release. It was ok. You can see and hear one song from the new album by logging on to msn.com music link.

I agree with Jbeezy-the sophmoric release by Les Nubians will not be better than the Princesses Nubiennes album.

I saw Les Nubians at Chi-Town's House of Blues in March. They were gorgeous, funky, elegant , sensual and healing. The band & background vocals were very strong. Loved One Step Foward and their playfulness on stage.
Wanted 2 hear more of the first album as well.
I really want 2 see them blow up in the African American market as well as International Diaspora. I written some songs with them in mind.

one step forward is exquisite.. the first album was good as hell,but this one..
will be hard to top. no sophomore jinx with these eloquent sisters

The first album, Princesses Nubiennes was great and the "One Step Forward" one , took a step forward, just as the 'album title' says from the first. They are and still continue to be the bomb-digity.

I really detested this group when they first came out in 1999. With the offbeat rhythms and melodramatic hymns, I was jus like ok... Are they gonna cross over to English or are they consumed in a matrix and cant get out... But then recently when I did a French project on them, I was astounded to the realization that their music was pure and meaninful, not just a bunch of words jumbled together with a good beat, but they had a rich deep rooted meaning.... I especially like Je veux de la Musique, which happens to be the song I did the project on.... It was just so good to hear two well known genres fused to manufacture somethin new and fresh with an appeal that could move any spirit, young or old.... I plan on buying all their albums and carefully listen to them. I think I didnt like their music before because I was first of all young and not as eclectic and musically inclined as I am today.... Les Nubians sont une bonne groupe. Trop d'amore a nous!!
