Wow I guess it's been quite a while since Joshua was a topic here, but for those interested in finding his rare, and wonderful music, I strongly suggest trying KazaaLite. I have been waiting for any new J.K. music since Painted Desert Serenade was released in '93. I'd heard there was a second album years ago, but could never find it. I was surprised when web searches revealed he had an additional 5 albums in the interval, but no luck finding them until I tried Kazaa. His music is beautiful, and his stories are touching and meaningful. It is such a joy to finally hear these works.

Apart from his singing he is also a briliant writer. All must read his book seventeen ways to eat a mango.

I just love his CDs "Saturday Night in Storyville" and "Troubadour in a Timequake" - and I agree with Aneek - all must read his book "17 ways to eat a Mango", great book!

If you are interested in knowing more about Joshua Kadison, there are a couple of fanlists out there, at yahoo.com, and there are some websites too - joshuakadison.net, and kadison.fanatic-much.net

I just wanted to tell you that his Mango book has been translated to French, it is available at amazon.fr, for a very reasonable price (11, 40 Euros) - the book is very hard to get otherwise...

I have been reading the book again - it's something special about the book! Here are some quotes:
"Once I was sitting with Dragonfly Watcher gazing out over the water when a little girl came to him and asked what he was doing.
Ah, he said, I'm studying the lost language of dragonflies. At one time we all used to speak it fluently, but that was long ago, before many things happened. Now we've almost all forgotten....
The child pondered this for a long while. Then she said:
Lost language of dragonflies.... that's funny... I talk to them all the time and they never once told me that they lost anything."

"One way can be learned by starting to see the magic in everything.
Sometimes it seems to be hiding but it is always there.
The more we can see the magic in one thing, a tiny flower, a mango, someone we love, then the more we are able to see the magic in everything and in everyone.
Where does the mango stop and the sky begin?"

The book would be more appropriate to discuss under "Literature" - but Joshua is not listed as a writer, only as a musician, and I don't know how put him in the list of writers... does anyone know how to do that?
