Joe is the "BEST" !! He is the Kindest Human Soul I have ever met!! I have been friends w/ him for many yrs, I was in "People" mag. back in "1976" when we were in Chicago, well over 20 yrs ago, those were the days!! We still keep in touch. He is doing well, has a wonderful wife, putting out great new music!!! What more can you say "THERE IS ONLY "ONE ..."MR.JOE COCKER"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's a CLASSIC!!
Nice stories about Joe, enjoyed reading them.
Last times I saw Joe in concert were the late 80's early 90's, the two shows were at the now defunct Montreal Forum, a great place to see a show indeed!
The first of the shows, Stevie Ray Vaughan opened for him, and very sadly Stevie died a few days later, I'll always remember that concert fondly, I am so happy they graced us with their presence. Both Joe and Stevie gave sublime performances, class acts indeed! The next concert I saw again was at the Montreal Forum early 90's, I was in the front row, and Joe saluted me, kind of bowed and threw a kiss to me, real classy!! I never forgot that either!!
There was another great show he did for the 350th anniversary for the city of Montreal, he did a brief set, yet a great one, I remember being so pumped up to see him there, it was a free show!!
So that's a little reminiscing on my part.
Joe will be in our neck of the woods soon, so I look forward to that as well.
Keep on keepin' on Joe!!
Have always loved joe. fan since late 60's when my older sister took me to drive in to see Mad Dogs and Englishmen. That, of course, remains my favorite album. I saw him in Memphis Tennessee in early 70's. great show. I used to sing my child to sleep with a medley of Cocker songs- a slightly different rock a bye baby.
SAW JOE AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES IN NOVEMBER 2002 IN MYRTLE BEACH S.C.-HE'S THE BEST AND CONTINUES TO GET BETTER WITH AGE-HE'S SIMPLY AMAZING ! I LOOK FORWARD TO HIM RETURNING TO THE AREA SOON SO I CAN SEE MY TWENTY-FORTH COCKER CONCERT---HE'S THE ONLY PERSON THAT I WILL SPEND MONEY TO SEE OR BUY CDs
Joe Cocker should be inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame. What kind of idiot would vote in the Ramones and ignore Joe Cocker? Joe has been making music for 39 years and still going strong. What a rock n roll treasure he is.
this dude Rock's.. :-)
I am a great, a really great fan of Joe Cocker. I discovered him in 1994 with his wonderful album "Have a little faith" and ever since I have never and will never stop listening to Him. Foe me He is Number One!My friends accuse me of being mad - they say I sould leave "that old daddy" and listen to modern bands?! Can you imagine? And I must tell you it's very hard finding cockerfans at my age (24). I see most of the letters here are written by people over the age of 40. I think we should do something about that and somehow try to show the young people that techno&hip-hop is not the only music and that there are people like Joe Cocker who try to put some nice melodies in our ears and help our souls survive. Two months ago I wrote a letter to a Joe Cocker fanclub in California and now I have a photo with his autograph. I am very proud! But only one friend of mine said it was a very nice surprise. You see sometimes I feel very lonesome because I don't find understanding. At the same time I learn playing the piano and I must tell you "You are so beautiful" is a masterpiece.
Well, now I will type my e-mail address so if anyone of you wants to write me and discuss Joe Cocker's music and the way to make it popular to the teenagers. I am looking forward to reading from real Joe Cocker fans!
Thank you, Joe, for keeping me alive!
God bless you!
Hi - I have a question - can someone help me? I love Joe's version of 'summer in the city' but I wonder who made the original version? Thanks a lot in advance!
