There is something which is captured in their songs which is very basic. They are a mature group.

They put alot ( or used to ) alot of effort into background music and riffs etc which is capturing in itself. Besides, lyrics are (or used to be) deep and makes you realise some things and ponder others. Older albums are originally excellent.

I was disappointed with their latest album, the 11th hour. Seems like they are trying to turn themselves into a mainstream rock band. I'd like to see more songs like "love song for a savior"

it doesn't take long before you begin to realise that you really really like a song by JOC. there's something to their over-all ambience that just makes you want to relax and chill out. cool band.

Jars of Clay lyrics are some of the best I've ever heard and I am thoroughly impressed by them. I think they are great!

I agree with you skybleu! I was dissapointed as well! I wanted so much for them to stick to their old style of music, but change is inevitable. Disregarding their former style of music, 11th Hour wasn't too bad. I still prefer their first album. Hey have you checked out their DVD? The accoustic set is soOOoo nice!!
