does anyone think that this rereleasing of morning view, tacked on with some extra B.S. is just a cash grab? I mean come out with a new C.D. already, or another DVD, but geez don't rerelease cd's! and don't release 7 songs per cd. I mean holy shit fellas. And yes their old stuff was better, they are becoming softer every cd. morning view is so damn mellow compared to science. ok that's it. I'm done.

It's hard for me to fathem that these 5 human beings are capable of making such inspirational mood-altering beautiful music. Their lyrics and music just fuckin intertwine into a melodic masterpeice that leaves you hangin on every fuckin word, note, what have you. They aredefenantly blessed with the art of making music. Good music. They are some really talented mofo's and ya know what , I hope they continue to expand their music stylings. I feel to them music itself can't be labled a fad, just whoever is behind making it. They just take in all they can in their own little world in a certain moments time and let it all flow out into their music. BRAVO!!! Thank you Incubus for making my ears less irritated.

In response to Blitz... I dont think Morning View is just a 'cash grab.' Knowing the background of the music industry would help (not bashing you or anything -- call it "enlightenment") and also an understanding of what happens when you get signed. Most bands get signed in a record deal for 2 cd's. (I believe Make Yourself and Morning View -- someone correct me if im wrong). Hence the second CD out so quickly after the first but also -- think about it. Don't get me wrong, Morning View is an awesome CD, but its different from every other CD they've put out. Why? Here's my theory as a musician:
You write songs and music according to your experiences, relationships, mistakes, etc. You go public with your music, thinking maybe it will reach someone, and maybe someone feels the same way you do and it will help them understand themselves. So you get a following, people like your stuff. You have wonderful experiences and hardships on the way 'stardom' -- maybe from 'thinking' you can make it big and not having a job, and sleeping in your car, maybe from relationships that dont work out. Whatever, it all inspires you, and you write better and better music. The fact that you love your music and love the fact that other people love it too makes it that much more meaningful.
Then, that big record deal comes, everything you've worked for, your dream of making it "big" finally comes true. You finally have time to just sit and write and not have to worry about where you'll be next. You travel, maybe around the world, maybe around the country. You sign for a record deal for 2 CD's. CD one is easy, you already have 12-15 good songs that can go on it.
Now, imagine, all those experinces that led you to make such a great CD, and try and apply it to the second CD. Just like you've always wanted, you spend countless hours in a studio on a CD you know will sell even if its bad (not making a reference to Morning View on this one -- but how many times have we bought CDs of a band because the first album was awesome?). Writing and recording, maybe recalling on past experiences (vividly or not) -- its just not the same as having the experience and writing the music immediately afterwards. Instead of new experiences, you sit, for a year, in a studio, hashing out new songs for your second CD.
Of course the second CD isnt going to sound as good. It doesnt have as much emotion as those songs you wrote while you were, excited, happy, depressed, suprised, etc. You know what the next day is going to be like. Your going to the recording studio with your buddies.
There's my theory, and im not saying that their second CD doesnt have emotion, but there is a huge difference between thought and simplicity of Morning View and Make Yourself.

Incubus plays their music like it's the last time they will be able to stand upon a stage and perform. The songs they have created are deep and the only way to interpret them is on your own. To have people connect with you on a musical level is so amazing, hence the reason bands are out there. Incubus shows that emotion with their colabaration of various sounds. Using the dirijadoo, that's fucking amazing! They take rock music to another level, more mature because they are growing together, and trying out different ideas. But it's really funny to see some fans are only fans because they think Brandon Boyd is hott, and girls scream his name and give HIM credit. DON'T DO THAT! He's NOT the only one in Incubus, there are four other guys.. Mike, Dirk, Jose, and DJ Kilmore who make up Incubus. For future reference, it pisses off some artists when only one person gets the credit and not the entire band.

I look at most of the people in incubus forums and what makes me mad is the people like mike (at the very top) was talking about...those people that only like incubus for the looks....i saw a video of dirk walking around at their concert before it started, asking people what they thought of incubus....he met a few "die-hard" fans that didn't know anything about him.....didnt even recognize him....didnt know that his name is chris......or that they have a cd before make yourself......or, for that matter, that the band consists of 5 people....not just brandon. Dont get me wrong, Brandon is a talented person....i like his style of writing but, like vNb, i dont agree with him getting all the credit.....he deserves some but not all.....dirk is an awesome bass player....hes up there with 311 bass player and les claypool, but no one would know that, id like anyone who actually reads this to download speak free....and listen to dirk, or azwethinkweiz and listen to mike play his jazz guitar......listen to the old stuff and you will appreciate it all a lot more....I meet very few people who do what i say (listen to the old stuff) without thinking its weird....or not like it, i know a few people who quit listening to incubus because i played fungus and enjoy for them....they were "die-hard" fans....tells you something about people and music....about those who really like it and those who listen because its the newest fad....they are headlining lolapalooza(cant spell that shit)...from what i hear brandon is letting his hair grow out....maybe he'll put it in dreads...grow his mustasche...and scream....i cant wait to see the faces of the "die-hard" fans then....where will there morning view be then?
