Ian Hunter

Forum

Ian Hunter is one of the most influencial people in my life. I started listening to his music before I was even 2 years old, thanks to my youngest uncle:)
I think my first Ian Hunter song was "Lisa Likes Rock n' Roll', and my first Ian Hunter album was "You're Never Alone with a Schizophrenic". It was love at first listen. I got heavily into Mott the Hoople (something that still confuses my friends - "Mott the huh?"), and I sometimes manage to find Mott the Hoople compilations to add to my fast growing collection.
I have written to Ian Hunter a number of times, and I've gotten a response every single time. He's a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor, and it's wonderful getting in touch with him, especially since I can now give people answers to almost any question they have about him.
Ian has been there through so many events in my life, from the groovy (Hurrying home to blast my new Mott the Hoople album) to the not-so-groovy (Playing "Boy" for words of wisdom after my grandfather's death). Some people survived their teens with The Rolling Stones, some with The Beatles. I am surviving my teens with The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and Mott the Hoople. Thank you so much, Ian.
