Discussion: Ian Dury

Ian Dury rocked the world with his lyrics and his charm. I would be interested if anyone else has fond memories of him and his music. I think that his humour and not to sound too grand about it, therefore his humanity came shinning through. Hearing him speak on radio 4 about his life on desert island discs was a programme that I will never forget.

i'm a blockhead !!!!!

ian dury was a truly original
songster
story-teller
cockney cut-up

life knocked him around a bit
but
he had that unique ability
to stay upbeat
&
to keep his sense of humour

ahhhhh
vinyl LP's & their covers
(CD's saw the demise of 'album art')
one of my favourite LP covers.......
Ian Dury & the Blockheads
"New Boots & Panties"
(i just love dat photo)

only Ian coulda written
something as absurd & funny as
"There Ain't Half Been
Some Clever Bastards"

i wish he still graced us
with
his sly & witty outlook on life

Ian Dury
R.I.P.
