no its kind of the way i phrase things. what i mean is most music being aired is mindless,airbrushed. and trash. I would rather there was a band like greenday than not at all, at least that way there is somewhat of a balance. greenday and him are probably as popular as each other, the difference being greenday are american and get airplay so everyone knows who they are. Personally I don't think they are going to last...who knows.......

"a device for mainstream commercialism" hmmm...my god Greeday are commercial? Meh it's their music I'm interested in not the fact that the sell millions of records or have apperently sold out. I've always been a fan G.D. in personally I don't think A.I. is much different from their other stuff. Yeah maybe they don't have the musical substance as a lot of other bands but that's not what there about. They write catchy poppy melodies (cue the hardcore g.d fans ranting about greenday not being pop) whatever, I like thier music, it sticks in your head, you can sing along to it. They create fun and energetic music. That's why I like them...

I'm not a hardcore fan - I don't own any of their albums and I don't particularly think any of their old stuff is amazing... I just think American Idiot is a lot worse and was written for the purpose of selling out! Sure, I don't care if an album sells millions - I enjoy Michael Jackson, Queen, other massive sellers... I object to the fact that they've compromised their music to make more money, whereas other artists write GOOD music to make money...

him and greenday are on a paralell, in that they are equally as popular. greenday get constant airplay ,and everyone knows who they are .H.I.M. do not get the airplay they deserve.
